If you’ve ever weathered the lengthy line for Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs, we have some good news.
While there are multiple popular spots dotted across Disney World’s shopping and dining district, Gideon’s Bakehouse really takes the cake – or, should we say, cookie. Since officially opening at Disney Springs in January 2021, the bakery has established itself as a fan favorite with its “almost half-pound” cookies, all of which are made from scratch.

But with great cookies comes great responsibility. Over the years, managing the demand for Gideon’s Bakehouse has proven quite the task. The store – which is located in The Landing area of Disney Springs – often utilizes a virtual queue when things become too hectic. Once summoned back to the store, guests are then required to join a rather intimidating-looking queue (which Gideon’s vows usually only lasts around 15 minutes).
Despite these efforts, some would argue that the store has become too popular in recent years. Guests have described the frenzy around Gideon’s Bakehouse as everything from “outrageous” to “batshit insane.”
That’s why it makes sense that the store is taking another step to cater to as many customers as possible.
Surprise Expansion in the Works For Gideon’s Bakehouse
It looks like Gideon’s Bakehouse is preparing to open a second location at Disney Springs.

Earlier this month, a permit was filed that sparked excitement with cookie fans. The Notice of Commencement, submitted to Orange County, called for a “New Tenant Build-Out” at 1600 E. Buena Vista Dr., Suite C-22, aka the former Art of Shaving location.
Walt Disney World was listed as the property owner, while the client named on the permit was The First Raven LLC, the business entity tied to Gideon’s founder Steve Lewis.
Rumors soon started flying that this meant another location for Gideon’s Bakehouse. Now, we seemingly have confirmation that that’s the case, as visitors – including X, formerly known as Twitter, user @magiccitymayhem – have reported that new artwork has appeared behind the store’s windows, similar to the typical Gideon’s aesthetic.

The designs seemingly feature birds, a crown, and a sword. The artwork departs from Gideon’s standard logo, suggesting the new location may offer a different kind of food or experience.
A sign on the door currently reads: “Please Pardon Our Appearance. Something New is Coming Soon.”

Fans have theorized that this new expansion could take the form of a more traditional coffee shop that sells some cookies, plus other baked goods.
What are you hoping for from this Gideon’s Bakehouse expansion?
