Disney’s Latest Water Park Updates

Disney has officially brought back one of its more guest-friendly ticket options, confirming that the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass is returning to Walt Disney World for the 2025–2026 season. The limited-time pass allows guests to visit Disney’s water parks, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach multiple times through May 9, 2026, offering a more cost-conscious alternative to purchasing individual tickets.

Pricing begins at $89 for adults and $83 for children, with one blockout period to note: scheduled from March 28 to April 5, 2026.

This version of the Seasonal Pass also includes a few added perks that extend beyond standard admission. Guests can take advantage of a 20% discount on same-day cabana rentals, including Polar Patios at Blizzard Beach and Beachcomber Shacks at Typhoon Lagoon, available on a walk-up basis only.

In addition, the pass includes one complimentary round of mini golf, valid before 4 p.m. at either Winter Summerland Miniature Golf or Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf, which can be redeemed at any point during the pass’s validity.

Disney also outlined its seasonal water park operating schedule as part of the announcement. Typhoon Lagoon is set to close for the season on February 14, 2026, with Blizzard Beach reopening the following day on February 15.

The Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass is now available through Walt Disney World’s Special Offers page, offering options to purchase online, by phone, or in person, providing fans with an easy way to plan for months of water park visits.

While Typhoon Lagoon is closing in February, Disney may have already quietly confirmed when it will reopen to guests, either as part of the one-open-one-closed schedule or as part of a dual summer opening, such as in 2025. This summer, Disney World made the historic decision to reopen both water parks simultaneously for the first time since 2019.

Disney has all its ducks in a row when it comes to water park operations, but the New Year may cause disruptions that are out of the Mouse House’s control.

Cold Front Threatens Park Operations

According to Click Orlando, the weather is set to transition from the dry and relatively warm climate of Christmas week to a cooler, windier one in Central Florida.

“While the immediate Christmas period will be warm and dry, models show the potential for a surge of polar and Arctic air to push south towards the end of December,” the outlet explains.

If this happened, it would mimic the events of last year when Blizzard Beach was forced to close multiple times and often consecutively due to an arctic cold front sweeping through the Sunshine State. Already in the previous few weeks, Disney has had to close Typhoon Lagoon park for weather-related reasons–even on Thanksgiving weekend.

“Right now, confidence is slowly growing surrounding the possibility of a cold front around Dec. 29 – 31, bringing with it a return to below-average temperatures and perhaps the first real rain chances in weeks,” the report adds. “It’s important to note there’s still some uncertainty about the timing and strength of this shift, so keep checking in with News 6 Weather for updates as New Year’s draws closer.”

So far, there are no official plans to close the theme parks at Disney, but as the weather cools, guests should look to the operating hours for up-to-date information.
