Despite its family-friendly appearance, Disney has several adults-only locations scattered throughout its theme parks and resorts. Earlier this year, EPCOT’s new Geo-82 bar and lounge opened, which is exclusive to guests 21 and older.

One of Disney’s most iconic adult-oriented locations is Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, which is found at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Guests of all ages are welcome during the day; however, restrictions apply to those under 21 after 8 p.m. and throughout the night.

Alongside adults-only locations, Disney has also opened several bars across its theme parks, making it clear it sees the 21+ crowd as a valuable part of its business.

Disney also gives adults extra attention on its cruise ships, offering a number of 18+ locations for adults to relax in.

The list of adult-only spaces recently changed, with Disney Cruise Line opening a new dining location on its private island, Castaway Cay.

The former Serenity Bay BBQ spot on Disney’s Castaway Cay island has closed and been replaced with a new restaurant called Hangar Bay BBQ.

The new restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests will find familiar favorites here, including BBQ burgers, fish, ribs, and chicken. As always, food is included in the cost of a cruise, meaning guests are free to enjoy as much as they want before hopping back aboard.

Castaway Cay offers a variety of quick-service eateries for guests to choose from, but the new Hangar Bay BBQ location is exclusively for adults. The entirety of Serenity Bay is an adults-only beach.

Disney currently features seven cruise ships for guests to set sail on, the first of which is the Disney Magic, which had its maiden voyage in 1998. Over the decades, the fleet has grown and expanded in major ways.

In 2022, Disney purchased an unfinished ship from Genting Hong Kong called the Global Dream for €40 million. Disney used this first-of-its-kind deal to build an ambitious new vessel, the Disney Adventure.

The Disney Wish set sail in 2022, with the Disney Treasure hitting the high seas in December 2024.

Disney’s cruise ships feature their own themes and storylines, with some taking inspiration from classic Disney stories and others using the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
