Walt Disney World Resort re-filed a Notice of Commencement for Disney Springs, detailing plans involving some previously installed fencing. It was initially believed that this permit would see hundreds of feet of fence and five new gates be built at the property, though the latest filing was discovered to be the same one from 2024, simply reprocessed again.
The permit for the fence structure was originally filed last year for Disney Dreams That Soar, a drone nighttime show at Disney Springs. The show premiered in May 2024, only lasting for a few months.
Disney Dreams That Soar has been off the docket ever since, though this permit stirred up some excitement when it was first discovered.
Now that we know it’s simply a refilling, the likelihood of Disney Dreams That Soar returning remains the same. The permit does not appear tied to any upcoming projects, such as the possible return of the drone show or the construction of Level99, a new interactive area planned for Disney Springs.
When it was up and running, Disney Dreams That Soar was quite impressive, boasting a collection of 800 drones that made incredible formations high above Lake Buena Vista.
However, the show had its problems, with walkways becoming heavily congested during performances.
Disney Dreams That Soar was put on ice in September 2024 and is yet to return. Disney has not made any official statements regarding the drone show, so guests shouldn’t expect to see it return anytime soon.
