You’ll never believe what the vice president’s least favorite Disney ride is.

In a new segment from the Katie Miller Podcast, Vice President JD Vance answered a few questions about his recent trip to Disneyland.
Vance went viral earlier this summer when he and his family visited “The Happiest Place on Earth.” From holding up lines to chasing his child in a somewhat embarrassing fashion, Vance made headlines for taking a trip to a place run by a company both he and President Donald Trump have been highly critical of.
However, Vance’s stance on the actual rides inside the parks is the most shocking, at least for hardcore Disney fans.
When asked what his favorite attraction at Disneyland is, Vance gave a surprising answer. “Well, it’s not called Splash Mountain anymore, that one,” said Vance, referring to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
The log flume attraction opened at Disneyland in 2024, replacing the iconic, decades-old Splash Mountain.

There’s been much debate about which of the two rides is better. Splash Mountain was undoubtedly one of Disney’s most popular, well-known, and iconic attractions, making its closure a hard pill to swallow for many fans.
However, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has carved out its own place in Disney theme park history. Vance’s position on the issue is honestly quite surprising, considering many conservative figures pushed back against the closure of Splash Mountain and labeled the decision as “woke.”
Disney announced it would close and renovate Splash Mountain back in 2020. This decision came after decades of backlash surrounding the ride and the film it was based on, Song of the South (1946), which Disney has essentially tried to erase from its history books.
Years later, things have cooled off, but there’s still a divide between fans of Tiana and fans of what came before.
The Katie Miller Podcast launched just a few days ago, spearheaded by the wife of Trump’s senior adviser, Stephen Miller. Miller has been at the forefront of the Trump administration’s crusade against illegal immigration and has championed putting more resources into departments like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Katie Miller has advertised her new podcast for conservative women and mothers like herself, saying, “There’s no space for conservative women to gather online.”
When asked about his least favorite ride, Vance said Space Mountain, simply because he can’t handle roller coasters anymore. This is a cardinal sin for the Disney parks community, as Space Mountain is practically as iconic as Sleeping Beauty Castle itself, though the older you get, the harder it is to justify riding.
What do you think about Vance’s feelings about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Space Mountain?
