Magic Kingdom is home to an incredible collection of rides and attractions. These range from classic dark rides like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean to thrilling roller coasters like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain.

There’s hardly a bad way to spend your morning, afternoon, or night at the Magic Kingdom, but there’s one attraction we avoid at all costs during our stay.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin has been a staple of Magic Kingdom since it opened in 2001, though not for the reasons you might expect. Sure, the ride is bright, colorful, and family-friendly, but Magic Carpets of Aladdin is one of the most loathed attractions in Walt Disney World among hardcore fans.

One of the reasons fans, including us here at ITM, do not enjoy this attraction is that it’s a literal carbon copy of Dumbo the Flying Elephant, which is located just a hop and a skip away at the same park.

Magic Carpets of Aladdin also takes up prime real estate inside Adventureland, turning what would be a welcoming and relaxing tropical paradise into a hectic and crowded circle of chaos. Magic Carpets is located right between several other popular locations, making this area rather cramped and easy to get lost in.

Magic Carpets also just doesn’t hit the mark in terms of “fun factor.” While Dumbo isn’t all that thrilling either, it’s a classic part of Disney park history. With Aladdin, this ride feels more like an obligation from Disney than an actual, magical experience.

Like we said, Magic Kingdom is home to dozens of incredible and “magical” experiences, which is why it’s crucial to spend your time wisely. Hours can feel like minutes inside the gates of Disney’s original Florida theme park, and as such, we recommend coming in with a plan and “trimming the fat” off your trip.

That isn’t to say that we know best, but there are certainly things in the Magic Kingdom more worth your time than others.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin falls into the “not worth your time” category, though we can understand how some may enjoy the ride.
