The Walt Disney World Resort’s World Celebration neighborhood at EPCOT now looks different.

Years ago, Disney World officially replaced the Future World area of EPCOT with three new neighborhoods to join the already existing World Showcase at the theme park. World Discovery, World Nature, and World Celebration were launched, with each neighborhood focusing on different aspects of EPCOT’s innovative and experimental identity.
From the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana attraction in World Nature, to the e-ticket Marvel ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, in World Discovery, guests can discover a number of different experiences across Disney World’s four-decade-old theme park.

World Celebration was the last neighborhood to open, with locations like CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza acting as anchors to the land. These act as the central hub for EPCOT’s many festivals, like the International Flower & Garden Festival and the International Food & Wine Festival.
While the new lands added an injection of excitement to the park, Disney guests have never truly understood the direction of the World Celebration area of the park, especially considering how long it took the Mouse House to complete the area. That said, Disney continues to embellish these areas and guests visiting EPCOT this summer will notice a new addition at the World Celebration area.

According to reports from WDW Magic, new landscaping has taken place around Spaceship Earth, the iconic attraction that acts as the beacon of EPCOT theme park. Photos show that Disney has implemented new palm trees in the area.
“Over time, several trees in front of Spaceship Earth were removed, leaving the area looking sparse. The new additions help bring back a more balanced and inviting look,” the outlet wrote. “These foxtail palms match the ones already lining the path toward World Celebration Gardens, creating a consistent look throughout the front of the park.”

Landscaping is happening all across the Walt Disney World Resort at present. From the continued development of the Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to the expansion of Magic Kingdom and the overhaul at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, dirt is definitely moving at the iconic Disney resort in Central Florida.
