For 32 years, Jurassic Park fans have wondered what actually happened to Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Mr. Arnold, in the original 1993 film.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to conclude that the chain-smoking chief engineer was completely torn to shreds by a raptor in the Maintenance Shed after he decided to brave turning the power back on without even a stick to shake at the dinosaurs. The severed arm that falls onto Ellie Sattler’s shoulder after she restores power later on is a dead giveaway.
But we Jurassic fans are a morbid bunch, and we need to know all the grisly details. Michael Crichton’s 1990 best-seller, upon which Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster is based, gives a far more detailed account of Arnold’s horrifying demise by the raptor, but the scene doesn’t appear in the film. However, unbeknownst to many bloodthirsty fans, it was supposed to.

The Death Scene Was Supposed To Be Included in Jurassic Park
“I was supposed to shoot a death scene but there was a big hurricane that tore up all the sets,” Samuel L. Jackson said of his time working on Jurassic Park (1993) during an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon last year. “So I didn’t get to go to Hawaii. So they just decided to stick my arm on a fall or floor or whatever.”
But now, thanks to the Jurassic fan Krenautican, who’s currently working on the Jurassic Park-inspired fan-made game “Cretaceous Kingdom” (previously titled “Jurassic Park: Operations” but rebranded after a “cease and desist” from Universal), we can now finally sink our teeth into the nightmarish last moments of Mr. Arnold in the 1993 film.
Watch Krenautican’s video titled “The Shed Incident” below. But “hold onto your butts”.

Is This Official Jurassic Park Footage?
No. This is in no way official or canon or associated with Universal. But it’s still awesome.
In a new follow-up video, Krenautican explains how they made the video using “found footage animation” courtesy of Dreams, a creation tool software for PlayStation 4 and 5.
Using existing environments they’d already created for their impressive fan game (also made in Dreams), they were ready to begin making a short film that depicts the horrifying final moments in which Mr. Arnold comes face to face with the velociraptor in the shed. The results? “Absolute nightmare fuel” as one shocked fan so eloquently puts it in the comments.

Mr. Arnold Could Return in an Official Jurassic Park Game
Of course, none of this is official, but it paints a pretty good, blood-smeared picture of what probably went down in that dark, claustrophobic building. Either way, things didn’t end well for Mr. Arnold. On the other hand, he may have somehow survived that attack.
As such, maybe he’ll make an appearance in the upcoming first-person action-adventure “Jurassic Park: Survival”, which takes place 24 hours after the 1993 film.
