A new Muppet theater show is on its way.
As Disney Park fans continue to mourn the closure of Disney World’s Muppet*Vision 3D, which has been closed down at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to make way for a Monsters, Inc.-themed land, there’s good news in store for fans of Jim Henson’s iconic characters.
While the Muppets are set to make their Disney Park comeback on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster next year, with the attraction dropping the Aerosmith theme for a complete Muppet makeover, before then, Kermit and the gang will return in another theater show this winter.

The Muppet Christmas Carol Is Hitting Theaters Again This Winter
For the fifth year in a row, The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert will be showing at several theaters and venues throughout the U.K. this winter, including cities such as Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Sheffield, with screenings starting from November 21.
Of course, even non-Kermit the Frog fans will be familiar with the iconic 1992 holiday classic adapted from Charles Dickens’ timeless 1843 novella “A Christmas Carol”, albeit with both a Muppet and a musical twist. Now, fans will have finally the chance to see the film — which includes the restored song “When Love Is Gone” — played right in front of a live orchestra.

While the upcoming run might be unavailable to those not based in the U.K., British enthusiasts, whether also heartbroken by the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D or simply fans of The Muppet Christmas Carol (or both), can now rejoice as tickets are officially on sale.
It remains to be seen whether Disney intends to introduce the Muppets in other locations at Walt Disney World Resort. For now, guests can at least look forward to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. As for the U.K. show, here’s Disney’s official description:
The Muppet Christmas Carol sees The Muppets perform the classic Charles Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine). Gonzo, as Dickens, narrates the story with the help of Rizzo the Rat. The film also features Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit, Gonzo as the narrator Charles Dickens, Fozzie Bear as Fozziwig, and Robin the Frog as Tiny Tim. Scrooge receives visits from spirits of three Christmases – past, present and future. They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but the miserable old man seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness.
