When Test Track 3.0 opens to the general public at EPCOT on July 22, you can expect a mad dash to the queue at rope drop, or the savvy Disney World guests will have already worked out their Lightning Lane passes for that day and already have a time to ride the park’s newest attraction. But, how is Disney World planning on doing the Lightning Lane for Test Track 3.0?

Well, the answer to that question came this morning. Disney announced that Test Track will be a part of EPCOT’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass at a Tier 1 attraction when it opens to the public. Some Disney fans feared they would have to purchase a Single Pass for Test Track, but Disney also confirmed that there would be no virtual queue or single pass for Test Track.

However, Test Track becoming a Tier 1 ride forced another change in the Lightning Lane system for EPCOT. Soarin’ Around the World will drop down to a Tier 2 attraction, joining the likes of Spaceship Earth (which closes for refurbishment in late August), Journey Into Imagination with Figment, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Living with the Land.

When guests select Lightning Lane for EPCOT, they can choose one Tier 1 attraction between Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Frozen Ever After. They will also get two Lightning Lane selections from the Tier 2 rides. Guests staying at Disney World Resort Hotels can book their Lightning Lane selections seven days in advance from the first day of their reservation for their entire stay.

Test Track closed last June and will open to the general public on July 22. While the updated version of the ride is similar to its predecessor, guests will enjoy some new features and experiences. And the older people in your party will enjoy the nod to the World of Motion, the EPCOT opening day attraction that occupied the space before Test Track.

If you’re heading to Disney World later this summer, start planning to get your Lightning Lane pass for the updated Test Track before they all go.
