Dozens of Disneyland Resort guests were trapped on Radiator Springs Racers for over 30 minutes after the ride abruptly shut down. Some of the stuck guests shared their experiences in a video on social media.

Radiator Springs Racers is Disneyland Resort’s version of Walt Disney World Resort‘s Chevrolet Test Track attraction, which opened days after Cars Land in June 2012. Instead of riding around a sim track, Disney California Adventure Park guests race through the world of Pixar’s Cars (2006) alongside Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, and more Pixar fan favorites.

Just as Disneyland Resort got its own version of Test Track, Walt Disney World Resort will soon have its own Cars attractions. Last year, Walt Disney Imagineering announced plans to fill in the Rivers of America and bulldoze Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom Park. In their place, Frontierland will soon boast two all-new Cars attractions. An exact opening date hasn’t been announced.

Unfortunately, recent Radiator Springs Riders weren’t dreaming of future advanced Disney Park attractions…They were counting down the minutes until they could get out. Last week, TikTok user @richisfro shared this video of his party trapped on the Cars Land ride:

“We are stuck on Radiator Springs Racers,” the TikToker wrote. “Send help! Been here for about 30 minutes.”
It’s unclear how long guests were trapped on Radiator Springs Racers, but it sounds like an evacuation wasn’t necessary. In the video, a Disney cast member used the ride’s speaker system to instruct guests to remain seated with their seatbelts fastened.

“Cars will begin moving momentarily,” the Disney cast member said.
Disneyland Resort rarely makes public statements about daily ride breakdowns, and this instance was no exception. Although the reason for the ride stop remains unknown, Radiator Springs Racers eventually reopened and was operating normally at the time of this article’s publication.
