An Inside the Magic team member photographed unrepaired damage on the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster during a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Slinky Dog Dash opened alongside Toy Story Land in June of 2018. Andy from Toy Story (1995) has built a roller coaster using his “Dash & Dodge Mega Coaster Kit,” and Walt Disney World Resort guests are invited along for the ride! The outdoor attraction features just one animatronic, Wheezy the penguin from Toy Story 2 (1999).

Although Slinky Dog Dash is one of three attractions in Toy Story Land, it’s arguably the most popular. It almost always has a longer line than its companions, Toy Story Mania! and Alien Swirling Saucers–unless it’s closed due to inclement weather.

During a late January visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, an Inside the Magic team member waited 90 minutes for Slinky Dog Dash. Some guests relied on mobile games or e-books to pass the time in line. Unfortunately, others took it upon themselves to turn some of the queue’s decorative props into interactive displays to quell their boredom.

Near the standby and Lightning Lane merge point is an oversized sticker set, part of the “Dash & Dodge Mega Coaster Kit.” One of the fake stickers features the attraction’s health and safety warnings, while others feature decals that Andy could’ve used to decorate his backyard roller coaster.

Over time, Disney Park guests have peeled away at many of the decorative stickers, revealing a beige background behind them. Of course, the material isn’t actually sticky–guests who pick at the faux details will only come away with a chip of paint.

Damage like this is typically repaired during attraction refurbishment periods. However, Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t scheduled any upcoming refurbishments for Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
