During a recent stay at Walt Disney World Resort’s Pop Century Resort, an Inside the Magic team member found some unusual long-term residents in their hotel room…
Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a Value Resort hotel situated across Hourglass Lake from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
The decades-themed property offers bus transportation to Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney Springs, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Disney Skyliner transportation is available for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

While building the Disney Skyliner in the late 2010s, Walt Disney World Resort modernized the hotel rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. They removed outdated carpet and bedding, installed vinyl flooring, and replaced one of the full beds in each double bed room with a pull-down mattress that converts into a table and chairs, giving guests more space and flexibility during their stays.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort recently debuted its newly renovated Everything Pop Shopping & Dining Area, with all-new decorations and a refreshed seating area. Only one of the Quick Service walk-up counters remained under construction during Inside the Magic’s visit in late January 2025.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney’s Pop Century Resort offers housekeeping services every other day for the length of guests’ stay. However, a member of the Inside the Magic team recently dealt with some persistent pests in the 70s section of the Disney Resort hotel.

In the photo above, four dead flies are visible on the ceiling in the bathroom of a room at Disney’s Pop Century Resort hotel. The bugs were visible upon check-in and remained in the room throughout the stay. The humidity in the bathroom acted like adhesive, making it tricky for guests to remove the creatures on their own.

If you experience any issues with your Disney Resort hotel room, notify the Front Desk. Disney cast members are happy to help!
