The problem is the words developmental disability. I have documented mobility issues and used an ECV the last time I went. I also have massive issues with my colon. Although I try to make frequent bathroom stops, I can’t afford to be stuck in a long line, and need to go to a bathroom ASAP. It won’t be pleasant. I really think that I have had my last Disney trip. Some, but not all CMs were just rude. It is not like we go on all the thrill rides. There really needs to be some leeway for people who develop issues into their adulthood. Here’s the kicker for me. My son has a developmental disability, but probably doesn’t need a DAS. Perhaps the issue is that Disney wants people to buy lightning lanes, but those are just chaotic to get rides when you want them. Think about it. Those people with a DAS wait in a virtual line so really what is the difference?
Take your phony policy games that you use to get your fast pass approval you give three passes that you don’t have to wait in line but you have to wait for the ride so you’re not giving nothing and this is what you do to your seniors. Take your park and ticket and shove it. I’ve been there for 20 years. This is my last year and other senior should follow through close the park down block the road. Do you want to follow the rules of disability, then shut our roads down we are the people that have to say.
I doubt they will allow me to qualify. That’s fine…for two reasons:
1) I will STILL refuse to play their “pay $$$ extra to ride the free rides” game.
2) If something DOES happen, because they don’t qualify me, I can (at least) get my fifteen minutes (after I obtain medical proof of whatever happened as being avoidable if Dosney complied with ADA regulations) via media & social media — while ACLU helps me fix this for EVERYONE that might need.
Although, I doubt there will be any issues. With everyone else selling out their own mother for LL, the “stand-by” lane (as they now call it) will be that much shorter. Same with the fact that only the rich can afford to go there. The rich would NEVER want to use the same lane as is “riff-raff”. This means less people attending the parks, anyway.
Well… Less people, unless the MAGA cult spends their life savings to go there (in an attempt to attack anything & everything they might seem & hear as against their “heterosexual white Christian male supremacy” agenda. We ARE talking about DISNEY, after all.
Just too be clear, president convicted felon Donald J. Trump & his team (as well as his worshiers with over a six-figire income) throw the world “rich” into the “heterosexual white Christian male supremacy” agenda. From all those FAFO videos, I’d doesn’t look like MAGA can afford that.
Some people don’t know how to discuss things without making it political. You could probably tell him that there was a bird flying through the sky and he would blame it on Trump somehow. Lol
You doubt you’ll qualify but if you don’t qualify, you’re going up raise cane on social media and regular media? It sounds like maybe you are one of the ones that was abusing the system. If you don’t qualify, you don’t qualify. No point in causing a scene because you were told no.
We just went and my husband qualified according their written qualifications and we spoke with two separate “counselors” and both denied him. The last one finally admitted he WAS NOT ALLOWED TO APPROVE ANYONE! I wish I recored it. It’s a scam and they only want extra money for lightening lane. Both counselors suggested it as a solution. This will be our last Disney trip. We are Universal people now.
Time to stop beating the Dead Horse! Unfortunately Disney doesn’t care about all the complaining and unhappy people, (unless you’re a local blogger out here in California who has thousands and thousands of followers, so Disney caves in and gives you your unwarranted DAS back). They did what they did in order to try and cut down on all the unwarranted DAS passes they gave out. All those people who BS’d they’re way into getting a DAS didn’t help! I personally know dozens of AP/Magic Key holders, who lied about medical issues to get a DAS pre-covid.
A lot of people lied about it because one person on social media would say something like “this is how you get a DAS pass” and continue to tell people what to say or do so every other person was getting DAS. It was being abused way too much. It’s kind of like the influencer situation where they were saying if you wear a shirt that is something that would be banned, Disney would give you a shirt to wear so it was a way to get a free shirt.

It takes a lot for me to request accommodation. I asked in 2021 and was denied. I say F Disney. I really do.

I don’t think being a B qualifies as a disability.

So you think seniors automatically get approved for the DAS? Is that what your post is saying?
