Magic Kingdom is not just the most popular park at Walt Disney World but consistently ranks as the most visited theme park destination on earth, bringing in millions of guests each and every year. Magic Kingdom’s popularity is, in large part, due to the park’s selection of classic dark rides and attractions.

From Pirates of the Caribbean to Space Mountain, Magic Kingdom is home to practically all of Disney’s most infamous rides. Many guests also feel the most “magic” in Magic Kingdom, as it is the oldest theme park in Walt Disney World and, as such, has allowed for the most memories to be made.

While Disney World is home to many classic experiences, things seem to be always changing at “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” with the latest update concerning Magic Kingdom’s parking.

Guests traveling to Magic Kingdom will now notice that there have been some operational changes at Disney World’s Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), specifically its parking lot, with one section being shut down.

Most of the TTC parking lot remains open, but the Jafar section has been closed. According to WDWMagic, Disney is in the process of resurfacing the Jafar section of the lot. Disney has not provided a timeline for when the project will be complete, but guests can expect it to take at least a few weeks to maybe a month.

Trams will operate as usual, with some slight detours depending on which sections of the parking lot are being resurfaced.

While Walt Disney World Resort buses take guests directly to the park gates, guests who use other modes of transport, like the Monorail, will have to stop at the TTC to get into Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom recently had its hours extended, as did Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom’s hours are now as follows:

  • February 16-17: Closes at 10:00 p.m. instead of the usual 9:00 p.m.
  • February 18-19: Opens at 8:00 a.m. On these dates, the park will close at 11:00 p.m.
  • February 20-21: Closes at 10:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 p.m.
  • February 22: Closes at 11:00 p.m.

As stated earlier, Magic Kingdom is full of decades-old attractions that still manage to light up guests’ days or nights at the park. However, this is not to say that Magic Kingdom hasn’t received a few upgrades over the years, with the park just recently welcoming two brand-new attractions.

In 2023, TRON Lightcycle / Run finally opened in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, offering guests the chance to get digitized and embark on their own death-defying race. The roller coaster is loud, fast, and incredibly smooth, though TRON’s restraints may prove uncomfortable for some guests.

Magic Kingdom’s newest attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, officially opened last summer. While new, the ride was actually built using the same structure and bones as Splash Mountain, Disney’s iconic log flume attraction.

Instead of taking guests through the briar patch, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure allows riders to step into the world of Disney’s beloved animated film, The Princess and the Frog (2009). Tiana’s Bayou Adventure certainly struggled in the weeks following its opening day but has since been improved considerably. Two versions of the ride exist in Disney’s theme parks, one in Florida and one in California, both of which offer their own unique sections.
