The latest Florida theme park injury report is here, revealing several incidents and accidents that occurred at the Universal and Disney theme parks during the last three months of 2024. These reports are revealed quarterly thanks to an agreement with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, as shared by Orlando Sentinel.

Starting at Walt Disney World, “The Most Magical Place on Earth” saw several incidents. In October, a 54-year-old female guest reported feeling nauseous after riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This intense roller coaster is found at Disney’s EPCOT theme park and has been a trigger for those prone to motion sickness since it first opened, so much so that vomit bags have been offered at the ride’s exit.

Another guest, a 67-year-old woman, felt shortness of breath after leaving the same attraction in December.

Another guest, a 55-year-old man, had chest pains after riding Expedition Everest in November. This roller coaster is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park and is often considered one of the most intense rides at the entire resort.

The next month, another guest, a 50-year-old woman, experienced shortness of breath after riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Falls were also quite common, with a 79-year-old woman injuring her hip at Under the Sea—Journey of the Little Mermaid in October and a 68-year-old woman hurting her hip after exiting Prince Charming Regal Carousel. Both these attractions are found at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Disney World’s biggest competitor, Universal Orlando Resort, also made the injury report list, with multiple incidents being tied to its Jurassic World VelociCoaster roller coaster. In a six-week period, three incidents were reported by guests after riding VelociCoaster, with a 43-year-old experiencing nausea in November and a 63-year-old feeling shortness of breath in December. That same month, a 44-year-old man reported that he had fainted after riding the dinosaur-themed coaster.

VelociCoaster is one of the resort’s headlining attractions and is located at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park. This theme park is where two other incidents occurred, including a 36-year-old man who reported a seizure after riding Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, as well as a 48-year-old man who felt head pain after experiencing the Incredible Hulk Coaster.

Finally, two incidents were reported at Universal Studios Florida, including a 48-year-old woman who had chest pain after riding Revenge of the Mummy in November. Another guest, a 76-year-old woman, fainted after experiencing Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts in December.
