I still remember the Dino attractions with some great memories. It’s a little sad that it’s all going away. That said, I’m trying to stay positive about this. I have faith in Disney to give us new, fun attractions for even more memories to come!! 😁

I’m still a bit confused about Indiana Jones and the animal adventure he’ll be having. I would have expected Indiana Jones as a Hollywood Studios (is that still the name of their fourth park?) addition.

I guess Middle East is part of Tropical Americas. Or is Europe or India what they consider Tropical America? Indiana Jones is an archeologist. Perhaps combining him with paleontology would make sense for the dinosaur aspect? Except…those are two different fields.

His five movies take place all over the world. There were only a couple of times he was in Tropical America. And not even for most of the movie.

No Indiana Jones is coming. No Tropical America is coming. You’ve been duped.

Central and South America contain places like Honduras, Costa Rico, Guatamala, Barbados, Trinidad, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, it has some of the most famous rain forests in the world. It is home to some of the most amazing animals in the world. It is from where we get our coffee, agave
and many other types of fruit. They are our neighbors to the south.
The area that is Asia in Animal Kingdom already represents India, China, etc.

    No expansion – just destruction

Disney is going to CRAP! Destroying all the fun to make way for rich people and crybabies!!

After enjoying Disney for 60+ years, I am starting to really be disappointed.

Um, you do realize that all of your ranting makes you sound like a crybaby, right?

While I will miss the antics of our friendly paleontologist sending us back in time to retrieve our dino, I know all good things have to change to grow. I am a huge fan of the ride and just happy they decided to preserve the actual ride system. I had always been a bit jealous that Disneyland got the Raiders of the Lost Ark ride and we got a stunt show, but I digress.
The original designs for Dinoland were much more exciting than what we eventually experienced. It was supposed to have a big outside out and bsck coaster, in addition to everything else. Hester and Chester’s was never meant to be there. Due to budget cuts, we got Hester and Chester’s take on South of the Border in South Carolina, whch I always thought was a cop out and felt as if they threw a bunch of unimaginative ideas together in a fairly cheap looking way, using off the shelf carnival rides and games, which didn’t speak well fot the ImaginEars, or the company.
The South and Central American theming does work well with how the park is representing itself today. I can’t wait to meet the new inhabitants! What I am most excited for is the handcarved wooden Carousel. In some of the first drawings, when Animal Kingdom was just an idea in Michael Eisner’s head, the centerpiece of the park, where the Tree of Life now stands, was going to be a beautiful, magnificent handcarved, doubledecker Carousel. Now whether the new iteration will be double-decker is unknown, but the fact that Disney is revisiting original ideas is a step in the right direction. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!

I am still super excited about the Indiana Jones ride! It should be made in Hollywood Studios, though.
