Disneyland Resort has officially given a carved wooden Mickey Mouse statue a much-needed facelift, providing the character with a “new life” at Disney California Adventure Park.
In recent years, Disney Parks fans have questioned maintenance at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Guests have reported numerous issues throughout the Disney Resort hotels and theme parks, including repeated ride breakdowns, chipped paint, and broken elevators.

The Walt Disney Company has made efforts to repair deteriorating structures, including the ongoing restoration of an oversized statue of Baloo from The Jungle Book (1967) at Walt Disney World Resort’s Pop Century Resort hotel. Magic Kingdom Park recently shut down its version of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster for a year-long refurbishment and improvement project.
Now, a Disney artist has revealed that he recently worked to restore a wooden carved statue of Mickey Mouse that lives near a Disney Vacation Club kiosk at Disney California Adventure Park. Raymond Kinman, a woodcarver, recently shared this photo on Reddit under the username u/raymond_klnman:
Mickey Gets a New Life
“Whenever a new carving shows up my inbox blows up, they want to know if this is my work,” Kinman wrote. “I can neither confirm nor deny. But I’ve heard rumors that this carved Cedar Mickey statue had to go to the hospital after some damage sustained at California Adventure Park. He was recently restored with some new luggage and is now back in place in his full glory!”

Disney Parks fans were thrilled to see the new-and-improved Mickey Mouse return to Disney California Adventure Park. The post obtained more than 200 upvotes and supportive comments.
