Just weeks after opening at Disneyland Resort, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure struggles to continue normal operations. Countless Disney Park guests report that the Bayou Country attraction is already in a bad state and faces low wait times–though some of the latter can be attributed to chilly weather in Southern California.
Inside the Magic has recently covered the fall of certain popular Disneyland Resort attractions, like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. These Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge rides have experienced ongoing technical issues and guest frustrations in the five years since opening.

But the so-called fall of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has amassed attention online just a month after the Disneyland Park attraction premiered. Disney Parks fans on Reddit recently discussed ongoing malfunctions on the Splash Mountain retheme, including a Princess Tiana failure that Inside the Magic reported on Sunday.
Redditor u/kjavatar started the recent discussion about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which amassed attention from hundreds of Disney Parks fans. They explained that while they preferred the retheme over the controversial Splash Mountain attraction, they were “not fine” with issues piling up just weeks after its November 15 grand opening:
“The first Tiana animatronic on the lift hill has a gash under her chin. Second Tiana’s mouth wasn’t moving, in the final scene Louis’s head was moving but his body was still, Tiana was completely still and just awkwardly standing there. Finally Mama Odie’s mouth didn’t move. Aside from ALL of that, the ride has broken down 4 times today so far. I understand new rides can have issues but this ride is a month old and it feels like it’s falling apart. It’s genuinely frustrating how a ‘brand new’ ride can find itself in such disrepair.
Ok rant over, still love the ride but man it needs some help.”

Hundreds of Disney Parks fans agreed and shared their negative experiences with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
“My #1 goal yesterday was to ride Tiana for the first time and I got the closest before breakdown #3… honestly depressing,” u/madqueenludwig wrote.
“We noticed the mouths not moving also,” u/kskinner24 replied. “Very disappointing. We pay an ass load of money to get into this park, the ride better be up and running 100% especially the new rides. Call me entitled but if you’re gonna charge a billion dollars to get in, shit better work. Half ass rides isn’t the Disney way.”

Others said the state of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was emblematic of widespread issues at the Disney parks.
“I still feel like Disney is suffering from laying off all their experienced maintenance and engineering staff during Covid,” said u/garrcha. “That was a big mistake. But that’s just my .02$.”

“Welcome to Disney not retaining enough maintenance crew to upkeep the complex attractions and show elements,” u/FawkesFire13 commented. “Honestly, bring things up like this in guest surveys and leave messages at Guest Relations. Talk about it in ways that reach official resort offices.”
Walt Disney World Resort’s version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure experienced similar issues in the weeks before and after its grand opening. However, the Magic Kingdom Park attraction has reportedly improved its operational status in recent months.
