“When Mr. Oogie Boogie says there’s trouble close at hand, you’d better pay attention now, cause I’m the boogie man.”
Visiting Disneyland Resort is always fun, but visiting during the Halloween season adds an extra level of magic. Between the decorations, the limited-time food and drinks, special nighttime spectaculars, and more, it is certain to get you in the Halloween spirit. I mean, what better way to celebrate the spookiest time of the year than watching Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) fly around Sleeping Beauty Castle?!

For years, guests visiting Disneyland Resort could splurge and purchase tickets to a special after-hours event, Mickey’s Halloween Party, which was held on select nights at Disneyland Park.
However, in 2019, Disney switched things up. Mickey’s Halloween Party was moved over to Disney California Adventure Park and transformed into Oogie Boogie Bash, hosted by Mr. Oogie Boogie himself.
Unfortunately, the party had to be canceled after just one year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but returned in 2021, and has become more popular year after year.
And this year, Disney has decided to address Oogie Boogie Bash’s popularity by adding more dates! This year, Oogie Boogie Bash will begin in mid-August and run through Halloween. This is the earliest that the party has ever, even starting before the Halloween season officially begins at Disneyland! Halloween at Disneyland does not begin until August 22.
This year, Disney has added four dates to Oogie Boogie Bash, with the first party happening on August 17. Below are all the dates for this year’s exciting Halloween celebration.
- August 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 28, 31
- September 2, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30
- October 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, 31

That is a total of 31 party dates, the perfect Halloween number! Last year, there were a total of 27 dates.
Oogie Boogie Bash is full of exciting events, including interactive trick-or-treat trails, the Frightfully Fun Parade, and rare character meet-and-greets. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is also transformed into Villains Grove, a stunning walkthrough that pays homage to a ton of incredible villains, including Scar from The Lion King (1994), the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland (1951), and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty (1959) to name a few.
Every year, new characters are also introduced, and it is something guests really look forward to. In the past couple of years, Ernesto De La Cruz from Coco (2017), Madam Mim from The Sword in the Stone (1963), and even Hades from Hercules (1997) have all made their OBB debut.
Disney has not yet announced when tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash will go on sale, but in years past, it has been in late June or early July.
