A Walt Disney World Resort guest faced backlash online this week after admitting to going on a tirade and reporting 27 Disney cast members to management.
More than 70,000 cast members work throughout Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney Springs, Disney Resort hotels, and the rest of Walt Disney World Resort. From housekeeping to entertainment, every Disney cast member plays a role in maintaining The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Hundreds of Disney Parks fans rallied in defense of cast members this week when Redditor u/fuckedbuttholes shared screenshots of an anonymous Disney Park guest admitting to mass-reporting dozens of employees to Guest Services.
“Someone posted their story on another message board I’m on,” the Disney Parks fan explained. “This person is unhinged. Trying to get 27 cast members fired is insane.”

In the screenshots, the anonymous Disney Park guest explained that they visited Walt Disney World Resort with a service dog. They claimed a Disney cast member “screamed” to ask about their dog’s name during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park.
“I jumped out of my skin because I hadn’t seen her there (we were 15+ feet away on the other side of the walkway) and I go ‘ARE YOU SERIOUS?’ because are you fucking serious?”
During another incident at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the guest said a Disney cast member asked about her dog’s breed while trying to make small talk as they were “fighting off a narcolepsy episode.”
“[She] only apologized when I told the friend I was with to ‘make sure you get her name tag name’ as I was trying to wake up,” the guest recalled.
The guest claimed that 27 Disney cast members, mostly Disney College Program employees, initiated conversations about their service dog but apologized after being confronted. The guest wrote down their names and reported “most of them” to Guest Services.
“I don’t want any of them fired or dismissed,” the guest claimed. “But they damn sure need to be retrained.”
The Walt Disney World Resort guest said Guest Services cast members “looked like I’d shot a child” when they pulled out a list of names and work locations they wanted to report. They also demanded a “follow up call” with someone higher up in Guest Services “because that’s a lot of CM’s to fuck up so much.”
It’s important not to distract or touch a working service dog. However, as many Disney Parks fans pointed out, almost all of the encounters described were Disney cast members initiating conversations with the dog’s handler–not touching or distracting the animal.
“It seems the examples given were not of CMs talking to or interfering with the dog, but rather simply talking to the owner,” u/opthomas_prime21 argued. “If it’s not clear why the service dog is there, it may be the CMs were indirectly trying to establish why the owner needed the service dog so they could assist if required”
Disney Parks fans didn’t buy the guest’s claim that they didn’t “want any of them fired.”
“‘I don’t wanna get anybody fired but I took down all their names and listed them off to anyone who would listen,'” u/FlatBrokeEconomist commented. “Sure, we believe you.”
“Imagine going to Disney World only to spend your day coming up with your hit list,” u/KarateKid1984 replied. “This person sounds exhausting. I’m sure drama follows them literally everywhere.”
Moreover, many Disney Parks fans pointed out that the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park cast member probably acted out of concern.
“I imagine the one cast member approached to make small talk BECAUSE they were fighting off an narcolepsy episode, and I bet that looks concerning!” u/soyboy412 wrote. “A deep breath and some space and time always helps in these situations. CMs are just people like you and me.”
Still, others defended the guest’s right to report the employee encounters.
“Nobody needs to be asking name, breed, etc. because it’s a working dog and that doesn’t concern anyone,” u/riningear argued.
u/legendnondairy agreed: “This person explicitly said they didn’t want anyone fired but rather retrained. I agree it’s a lot to post on some message board but there should be better training if CMs don’t know how to act around a service dog.”
