Disneyland Resort allegedly abandoned hundreds of guests waiting for a Toy Story Parking Area shuttle. Many of the frustrated Disney Park guests shared their experience on social media while standing on the stiflingly hot Southern California pavement.
Guests have numerous parking options when visiting Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney District. Most guests prefer to park in the Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals parking structures and walk or take the tram to the Disney parks. Those exclusively visiting Downtown Disney can park in its designated lot. Finally, guests can park at the Toy Story Parking Area, about a mile from Disneyland Resort, and take a shuttle.
The shuttle aims to provide convenient, complimentary, and efficient access to Disneyland Resort. However, Disney Park guests say that the service melted down last weekend, forcing guests to stand and wait nearly an hour or walk the mile to their cars.

The guest asked Disney cast members about the delay. They claimed that Disneyland Resort usually runs 24 shuttle buses but was down to 12 on Saturday and Sunday.
“Not sure if that was a staffing issue,” the guest wrote.
Other Disney Park guests also experienced the lengthy shuttle bus wait times.
“We left the park at 1:15 and waited twenty minutes for the first bus to come!” u/Elegant-Square-6992 commented. “Then at Toy Story lot there was a huge line of people waiting to go to the park. Not sure what’s going on with the buses. 3 more came while we were getting on ours but the line was already out of control.”
“We’ve given up on the bus system here,” said u/EdmundCastle. “It’s never faster than just walking the mile to the parks.”
u/hashbash72 said Disney cast members were urging guests to walk the mile to the Toy Story Parking Area instead of waiting nearly an hour for a shuttle:
“We left at 6 pm yesterday. The line was completely full. CM said it would be a 35 to 45 minute wait. They were encouraging people to walk to the lot.”
Whether these lengthy wait times reflect the new normal or a scheduling error is unclear.
