This is something only Disney or Universal can get away with. Their theming is so intense and compact, giving you little, if any, view of an attraction’s infrastructure, that there is no way to tell the difference between a minor technical glitch or a major disaster. They control the narrative to the detriment of their guests.

I was on the ride when it came to a stop about half way through. Apparently someone on the ride before us was hit in the face with something, likely something flying off another passenger. They had to stop everything to do safety checks.

I was at Disneyland Paris waiting to get on their Haunted Mansion when everything stopped and the lights came on. They brought out the bomb sniffing dogs (which happened to be standard sized poodles) and had them go through the attraction. Turns out someone dropped something from a doom buggy and, at the time, they had to stop and search for bombs when that happens.
Also, we were on Space Mountain in Disneyland when it stopped and the lights came on. We were never told what happened, but sat there for about 10 minutes. When they started the ride back up, cast members had to walk the tracks from the end to the beginning and push start the trains to get them going again. We were told we could stay in the car and ride again.

This actually happened to me once, though on a different ride. When I was little, I rode the “People Mover” at Walt Disney World. When I got to a certain point in the ride, the lights turned on and (though I don’t fully remember what was said) it was something along the lines of, “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties, please remain seated.” So, we had to sit in that ride for about 30-45 minutes before it actually resumed.

I was evacuated from the PeopleMover once as well. I was outside though, so luckily it’s covered. I fell asleep waiting for the CMs to come get us.

I was at Disneyland in 2004 with my mom and daughter waited 1.5 hours for space mountain…when we got on finally the car we were in sent us through a set of doors where Disney props were…no one came to us for an hour..when someone finally did…we were told the ride froze upside down. We were given passes for the rest of the day to be 1st in line

You mean Incredicoaster/Screaming. Space Mountain doesn’t go upside down.

its a no win situation. People will whine if theyre told itll take extra time, or worse, exit the ride

My mom and sister tried to make me bail out of Guardians at Epcot to ride my their ride of choice and I whined because they threatened to abandon me in line. I stood my ground and refused.
