Earlier this year, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opened at Walt Disney World, a ride that ushered in a new age for both the Florida theme park resort and The Walt Disney Company as a whole. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is an exciting new experience that invites guests to join Princess Tiana and her friends for a wild, Louisiana bayou-style party.

Along the way, guests will come face to face with several iconic characters from Disney’s classic 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog. The story culminates in a massive, 50-foot drop that is sure to get guests’ adrenaline pumping and may even leave them a little damp.

A second version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently being developed for the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, with guests recently being given an incredible look at the upcoming new ride.

The Walt Disney Company announced Tiana’s Bayou Adventure back in 2020, a decision that was met with immense amounts of controversy and backlash. While Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a different experience that features new characters and storylines, the attraction itself was built using the bones of one of Disney’s most iconic and legendary rides of all time: Splash Mountain.

First opening in July of 1989, Splash Mountain became one of Disney’s most popular and beloved theme park attractions, with the ride’s infamy only increasing as the decades went on.

However, Splash Mountain faced controversy for many years due to the ride’s source of inspiration, an often-forgotten Disney film from 1946 called Song of the South.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opens on November 15, 2024.
