Star Wars is wizards and warriors set in space. It is a franchise for children and teens. It’s fine for adults to enjoy them, but if you’re no longer the target audience and dislike the new content because it doesn’t meet your expectations, that’s a you problem.

    1. Duncan

Brilliant response. I agree. I don’t understand all the BS hate and push for all things to be Canon, whatever the F that even means. Watch and enjoy or just don’t.

    2. Biz markee

Problem is people like you. Can’t take the time to research a movie then want to criticize anyone who disagrees with you? Yeah, definitely a YOU thing. Go watch Harry Potter.

      1. Jnorris

Harry Potter is better than this crap they are showing

    3. TheHughMan

So What! DC and Marvel are wizards and warriors wearing pajamas. All things fiction can be reduced to the the most basic magic genre that started with simply pulling a rabbit out of a hat trick therefore everything fictional which came after that is nothing but a century’s long repeat of the same ol’ thing.

    4. Bruce Wayne

Sorry, but you couldn’t be more wrong. Star Wars was NEVER made with kids as the intended audience.

Did you pull that out of your ass? Were you alive and an adult when A New Hope came out? It couldn’t have been more for adults.

Plain and simple, Disney took a brilliant franchise and ruined it, regardless of creating entertaining content.

      1. Thomas Carrieri

Georg Lucas made it for children. It was taken from his mouth. Sit down

        1. Gizmo1st

Tolkiena franchise started off for kids to and developed into more. It wasn’t kids who kept it alive by reading books for 20 years between films.

          1. Thomas Carrieri

Tolkiens books are not a franchise, they were made for the for the young reader.

          2. Brian

No, the entirety of the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and related books were created solely to provide a world and history for the languages which he created. Further, none of the books were written for children.

        2. Mike

Guess what We were CHILDREN when this came out. This is OURS. Go create something else and QUIT DESTROYING OUR MOVIES

      2. David

Lucas made Star Wars for kids , with toys to go with the film . Lucas based star wars on kids cinema flash Gordon

      3. Autistic_Potato

        Ummm, No???
George Lucas said himself that Star Wars was always meant for kids.

That’s why he took a gamble and gave up royalties on the original trilogy, in exchange for the exclusive rights to all merchandise/toys (and this was before A New Hope even released!)

The prequels were made for the then-adult fans and the Clone Wars was made to remarket to newer kids.
Then the Sequals were made for the even newer children while Rouge One and Solo were made for Original trilogy adults, and the Mandolorian/Ashoka were made for the Clone Wars now-adults.

        1. Brian

It wasn’t royalties that he gave up, it was the the box office returns.

      4. Thomas Carrieri

I was alive , 11 at the time…it was a summer movie aimed at children… always was. Get out yo mommas basement and touch grass.

    5. Josh Josh

Not true at all. Look at the audience percentages. Only around 5% is under 16 years old. Almost 50% is 37 years +.

    6. DrCruel

It is too late for your simpering. A reset is no longer sufficient. The legacy fans now demand blood and human sacrifice. Only then may we discuss forgiveness.

    7. GetWokeGoBroke

Yet without adults & the adults money THERE ARE NO KIDS. THERE IS NO FRANCHISE

      1. Thomas Carrieri

Without a brain you have no purpose here. Be gone.

    8. strykrpinoy

WAS a franchise originally for children, except it hasn’t’ been that for 2 and a half decades. Clearly you haven’t kept up with the times, Old Republic for example was never written for kids yet the Revan and Darth Bane novels are some of the best books ever written for Star Wars.

      1. Thomas Carrieri

        It’s for kids…Disney is a kids entity…grow the f up

    9. MIKE

No, you don’t touch our shite. We are the original Star wars fans and people like you DESTROYED IT. IT’S A YOU PROBLEM, not US.

    10. BlueCollarCritic

A lot of “I don’t understand basic economics” responses here. If there wasn’t value in the existing Pre-Disney ERA IP and it’s content Disney would not have paid 3+ billion for ALL OF it. They would have simply licensed the ability to do their own Star Wars set stories. Whether you “get it” or not, these things have to be something called “profitable” which I know is a strange concept for many Millennial aged persons and younger. When your built-in customer base is hating what you make and this not financially supporting it your response shouldn’t something like “Screw them and their hate”. It’s like buying FORD and then re-doing every existing model into something existing FORD customers won’t buy.

I can see now why things are so messed up today. Most Millennial aged and younger people are more activist then critical thinker.

  2. Disney took one of the greatest intellectual properties in cinema history and made a mockery of it. It’s a franchise that many people grew up on, and Disney failed to understand who their audience is.

    1. David

Lucas made Star Wars for kids , with toys to go with the film . Lucas based star wars on kids cinema flash Gordon

      1. Jonathan

Lucas also made Star Wars as a critique of the Vietnam war. Layering does not negate any of the layers, just highlights which ones people see.

  3. I am glad that the genius of the Darth Jar Jar character is being acknowledged by these writers. The level of creativity in this story is what I would expect from an official Star Wars release. I think this is going to be really good and look forward to seeing it.

  4. Edward

Sounds like you are not a fan anyway so why would you care. I think the vast majority liked the last 3 films.

    1. Todd

      UM, no.

    2. Bill D

Very wrong. Most true fans hate those three movies as well as most of the D+ content.

      1. Writer6886

What the hell is a ‘true fan’?

        1. Shlolo Lerdant

Seriously. I’m a true fan though I’ve enjoyed the shows (cartoons, live action, CGI, etc) more than the movies.

But I’m a true fan who can talk layman’s ear off about nerdy crap and look good while doing it.

The Acolyte had silly dialogue but was the most exciting and wild show ever made in the Star Wars universe.

The most recent trilogy was really fun to watch though having the original trio featured so prominently was a weird choice.

I’m also a real fan, a huge fan, if many other IPs, sports, countries, and other stuff. And I wouldn’t gatekeep any of that even if my life depended on it.

          But I’m not a manchild so 🤷🏻‍♂️

          1. GetWokeGoBroke

A true fan is those that hates Disney

          2. GetWokeGoBroke

You are not a true fan if you enjoy Disneys stuff

If anyone is forcing anything on anybody ITS YOU WOKE FREAKS. You cant handle the fact that THE MAJORITY does not like what you like. THE NON EXISTENT RATINGS & THE DISNEY+ SHOWS FAILURES OF GETTING NEW SUBSCRIBERS says it all.

The original trio was featured prominently wtf ? That trilogy is why Star Wars is in the stage it is now. NOTHING BUT FAILURE

Disney Stock going down down down the drain again

    3. Scania

      Absolutely not!
More like the minority like them where the absolute majority of SW fans hated them.
It’s okay for the minority to like them, but don’t try forcing others to do so. That’s where the disrespect fighting begins.
Just saying, so if no one has anything nice to say just scroll on by.

      1. Magical Reasoning

You won’t be able to find a single case of anybody forcing this stuff on anybody.

So how is 100% not happening, somehow also the reason for fighting?

    4. Rafael

vast mayority gave bad review…ya in the minority.

    5. Writer6886

I like the sequels and Rey.

    6. Gizmo1st

      Delusional much?

  5. Whoops

It’s so annoying. Star wars fans hated the prequels until the sequels came out so they had something new to complain about. I have been a huge fan forever and I enjoyed the sequels and the obiwan show

    1. Biz markee

Thought Obi Wan was incredible. Even enjoyed Boba Fett. Maybe we are just weird huh?

    2. Writer6886

I’ve enjoyed the majority of Star Wars. To me there is no such thing as a bad Star Wars movie. Some are better than others.

  6. Biz markee

Not a Lego fan as it seems like something targeted toward the 20-25 year demo who are full of angst. Completely unserious which is fine if you’re not trying to unfuc# Disney’s disgraceful go at it.

    1. Neal

I’ve read almost every book in the Star Wars universe I’ve seen every movie every animated cartoon yeah definitely things I don’t like about the three last movies but what Disney is doing with the TV shows is exactly what needs to be done absolutely what I was hoping Disney was going to do and Andor could have been better pretty slow but everything else absolutely love I thought the acolyte for the start was off the chain and if you’ve read any of the books what they’re going to find on that planet is Abaloth and you’re not going to know who abaloth is unless you’ve read the books I’m completely stoked I think Disney is doing what needs to be done still a fan always a fan

  7. Goofball

The sequels were good except #3. Throw that down with the titanic. Make that one disappear.

  8. Danaid

At the risk of being pedantic, it was actually The Force Awakens that put Luke in isolation for years. The Last Jedi then had to fill in the blanks of why he had been absent for so long.

  9. Doug

Yet nearly all of the Disney Star Wars offerings since the sequels has been trying to explain the *how* of
    “somehow Palpatine returned”.
    Doesn’t seem like distancing (let alone cancelling);
    seems like doubling-down.

  10. BoBo

Disney Officially Reboots ‘Star Wars’ After String of Disasters, Removes Sequels From Canon???
This isn’t even true. What’s going on here?

  11. Scott Andrews

The sequels didn’t happen. It’s that simple. There’s nothing to be unhappy about.
In fact, the original trilogy that anyone under 40 has seen didn’t happen either.
And if you really want to enjoy the trilogy, the prequels didn’t happen either.

  12. John h

Nothing happened, nothing to see here…

  13. James

The idea that some random girl found a light saber and instantly became a Master is part of what burns me up. Disney getting super lazy and just trying a carbon copy of A New Hope irked me. They would have been better off replacing the older actors and continuing the original story line.

  14. Michael Jon

Haha, huge fan he says. Are you just making sure we take you seriously? Thanks for speaking for all of us but I’m good.

  15. Bill D

The real problem are the directors and producers. Everyone of them wanted to put their own ‘mark’ on the franchise instead of stating true to the spirit of Lucas’ vision. Be upset with those clowns.

    1. David

      I agree

  16. Ruslan

    That thrawn triloy

  17. David

I loved the originals, obi-wan series, boba fett series, and Ahsoka. I even liked the prequels. If you look at what they allowed Kathleen Kennedy to destroy she signed off on the sequels. Force awakens, last jedi are all trash. Even Mark Hamill stated that character wasn’t at all his version of Luke’s story. Even Rian Johnson stated he wanted to kill off originals cinematically and even put it in the movie thru Ben solo’s character to ‘kill it if we must.’ Watch that again and it will put it into perspective. These are not just guesses of star wars being trashed but retrospective evidence by true star wars fans.

  18. Batfink

I love Star Wars in general. Original, prequels, sequels and all that is in between. I’m sick of been spoken for by self proclaimed “true fans” who think hating things is cool because it’s not “their” Star Wars. Love it or hate it, it was never, nor will ever be “yours”.

  19. Dan

BS, you can’t say everyone hates the sequels then say they are divisive next sentence, their are plenty that absolutely love the sequels hence the divide! Over time many will come around to the sequel trilogy too, just like what happened with the prequels.

  20. Adrock

There are problems with some of the TV shows. But Boba? Obi Wan?
    Cannon is Cannon?
If you don’t like Star Wars, you don’t like Star Wars.

    1. Ran=Dom

Nothing Disney has done is canon. Especially Boba & Obi-Wan
If you like Disneys Fake Star Wars you dont like Star Wars

  21. Autistic_Potato

Sounds like this guy just straight up hates star wars in general.

  22. Stephen

Actually, I am interested! I haven’t been interested since The LEGO movie, but this actually looks intelligent and fun at the same time!

  23. Machi

As usual, this site has a title that’s a blatant lie. Why do I bother…

  24. Dave

The star wars franchise went down the drain quite simply because it was handed to agenda driven feminists.

    1. Wow dude

What agenda? I watched a show that was different from others.

      The agenda was entertainment

Please stop being afraid of women, its a dumb look

      1. Ran-Dom

If you call The Assholyte entertainment you dont know entertainment

The AssHolyte was agenda filled from the get go. The Interviews confirm this

Please stop being afraid of real entertainment, its a dumb look

  25. Mark

The part that everyone forgets is that Lucas SOLD Star Wars to Disney. An easy sell for him especially with all of the idiot fans who went after him for episodes 1-3. Shockingly, all of these hypocrites now love Analin Skywalker and all of the tie-ins to the Disney Spin off series. Rogue One was awesome, Mandalorian.. enough said, the spin offs have been great. You can make fun of other movie franchises but at least their fans aren’t hypocrites who now miss what they no longer have – George Lucas because of all of the crap you gave him in the first place. Nice job guys.

  26. Dave

Reason 9,876,765,973 Star Trek is the superior franchise

    1. Ran-Dom

Have you seen Star Trek since Discovery Season 1

      LMAO

  27. Brad

The sequel’s were not bad movies. The “complaining/tripping/critic bombing is cool” generation is just trying hard to ruin good things. To the guy complaining about the light saber skills. Is it that foreign a concept to you that one person may be more naturally gifted than another? The participation trophy, everyone wins thing is not reality. Luke was not strong in the force and swung wildly with his saber. Rey had way better discipline and actually practiced and honed her skills on both things. The movie doesn’t really say how much time really elapsed for her.

Tired of the current troll generation swaying narrative to lies about good things because they find it funny.

  28. Josh Josh

    Good, the sequels were garbage.

  29. ArtesianWafflez

These “fake” star wars fans need to grow up and stop whining. It’s been 5 years since rise of skywalker. The sequels are canon, they will always be canon.

  30. Michael

How about, idk, NOT a lego movie that has this premise?

  31. Force Aligned

It was made for kids, but both adults and kids enjoyed it. As the kids grew up, they wanted to watch something they enjoyed in the past. Is a modern adult version or continuation of the Star Wars universe in any related form asking for too much? That and not trashing all the lore and legacy both kids and adults enjoyed in the past? That’s all the older fans ask for and what they want the younger audience to enjoy as well.

  32. Blackthorn

Disney is for kids. Duh! They are marketing to the crowd that wants action figures in LEGO form. They have abandoned adults and that’s their business model. I think that is a shame. I enjoyed some of the spin-offs Boba, Mando, Andor. If they are done then that’s fine. Time to cancel Disney+.

  33. GetWokeGoBroke

If Bob Iger / Kathleen Kennedy / Dave Filoni & friends are all still there. This means nothing

  34. Hate the Prequels, love the Sequels… I’m kinda thinking Disney isn’t going to erase them.

    1. Ran-Dom

Than Star Wars stays ded FOR AS LONG AS DISNEY OWNS IT

  35. feasdrf213r

And people believe reboot will be free from woke in any shape or form? Think again

  36. BR Payne

Disney has produced the best STAR WARS project in 40 years. It’s called ANDOR. You should watch it

    1. Ran-Dom

Andor = one of the worst things ever of all time

  37. dave

please please reshoot all 3 – tell every they were a dream sequence burn the last piece of garbage- i won’t even acknowledge its name- fire kathleen kennedy for using star wars for her private agenda- and start over . Mando and Luke rule the galaxy.

  38. Julie

Like Dallas being just a bad dream so the plot basis could be changed, this is yet another idiotic move from Lucas and Disney. Those who will enjoy it are the same ones that think public school in the US actually educates.

  39. Virginia

I would not waste my time. What a joke,
