Do not even think about it Disney, Walt Disney is the reason why alot of people who still think that Walt is there in spirit and with him gone in a sense they would be very upset. I do not know who thought this one up but that person no matter who it is needs to be let go NOW !!!
It isn’t WALT DISNEY WORLD anymore, it’s whoever crys the loudest world. Disney has been going downhill since these groups whine their way into what they want and the rest of us who are TRUE WALT DISNEY Fans suffer for it. Simple has that!!!!
I have just one question. Why can’t Disney expand, but not at the cost of existing rides and attractions? Having been to Walt Disney World several times, including this past weekend, it’s obvious that there is plenty of land/space to accommodate expansion, rather than removing what has been a part of an enduring (at least until recently) vision of Walt Disney himself. According to Mufasa, as he speaks to Simba from the beyond, ” if you forget me, or the past, you will not know who you are, or where you’re going”. Or words to that effect. Perhaps it is time for the Disney execs to watch the Lion King again in a local theater perhaps.
There’s plenty of space AND a huge need for more space vs repurposed space. They need more capacity with attractions to “eat up” the crowds. This work of the new lands and ripping out Rivers, all it will accomplish is driving away long time fans in a substitute for the younger age fans without any long term connection to Disney, just the latest Loungefly purse. Again Disney’s disconnecting themselves from their long term generational fans, breaking the generational bonds that introduces new generations of Disney fans who have a long term commitment thanks to their parents and the previous generation that introduced them to Disney as kids.
Clearly the wrong decisions and ideas. To remove the heritage of the Disney name in the BS name of business is cowering to a very small number of folks whom have hijacked our culture and society. There ability to scream the loudest has done nothing to improve anything. My family and friends have elected to go elsewhere now. Too bad.
I can’t make sense of Disney cowering to the small percentage of customers and their “politically correct” complaints. If Disney doesn’t change anything, those complainers will still show up, along with the non-complainers. However, every time they make a PC change, they lose more non-complaining guests, while the complainers will just find something new to complain about. When Disney gives in to these whiners, it just ends in financial losses.
Roy Disney was the one who named the place Walt Disney World, as opposed to Disney world, out of tremendous love for his deceased brother. This change shows you just how vile, wicked, rotten, wretched and hateful this current brood of vipers who are running the company really are. These people are rotten to the core and must be removed immediately along with all the vile minions that are serving they’re vicious cause of tearing down the name of this great man, without whom they would be cleaning bathrooms somewhere rather than running what was the most beloved company in the country.
Hal I agree with you, Roy is rolling over in his grave for what Iger is doing to brother and his Park. So what in the hell did they buy all 27,000 acres to expland the parks to have space for it. That what was Walt and Roy Dreams for WALT DISNEY WORLD not some name that a no-buddy want to change it. And shame on you to the Disney family for not doing anything they must be greedy with the money that Walt and Roy made for them.
They are ruining Walt Disney World. They need to stop. I agree with the ones above. Walt had a vision and now you want to delete it and change what we all love and have loved about Disney for so many years. I’m glad I got to experience it many times before the memories are no longer there. My children and grandchildren were lucky enough to know the past. I’m sad that my youngest great grandson will not have those memories. Breaks my heart.
Instead of demolishing it, I am amazed that they put in new carpet & seats in Carousel of Progress – now if they could only restore the 4th act that was at the ’64-65 NY world’s fair.
& reinstate the 2nd floor demo of FUSION power & put back the futuristic muticolored “moving lights” roof that was on the Progressland roof.
& recreate some other attractions from the fair – like the underground home, & the ford pavilion, since the dinosaurs &/in Ellen’s Energy Adventure are gone. How cheap can ford be – not being a sponsor?
I can not believe they are taking something out that has been there for decades and putting something that shows the “darker side of Disney!” Their words not mine. REALLY PEOPLE!! Isn’t there enough of that in the real world, why do we have to put that in Disney. I am glad my children are grown and got to see it before all these changes will take place. I also have no grandchildren to take to it cause we wouldn’t go anywaya! Your catering to people that don’t have the money to keep coming back and taking away history from the ones that put money in your pockets. This also reflects in the movies that Disney puts out now. Most of them have underlining messages that the kids don’t understand but the parents know. Shame on the stock holders! Mr.Disney is rolling over in his grave right now. I never wish for bad things to happen, but when you take away history something is bound to go wrong.!

They need to get rid of IGER before he gets rid of the river and the river boat ride. That way Disney can put a stop to Iger’s plan to ruin WDW.
