The decendents of Walt, Roy, Herbert, Raymond & Ruth Disney should be up in arms about this & trying there best to keep anything like this happening. Walt’s ideas for Disney is being changed from what he conceived to something totally different. So Disney decendents are you Disney’s or don’t you care ?

    1. Marie

They don’t care. I believe some of them are part of this.

Also….Cars? Really? Is it even that popular any more? I think Cars was finished a few years ago. And I think Frozen is on the way out too. (I hope…)

I started going to Disney as a little kid, litterally when they first opened. Went multiple times a year with resident pass. Now, I haven’t been since the end of 2019 and probably will never go again.

      1. PatyC

I agree. Cars is way old news. Villains land is the direction. My Younger grandkids have never seen a Cars movie.

        1. Aunt Polly

Your argument makes little sense. There are Disney villains who are way older than Cars movies. Just because your younger grandkids haven’t seen a Cars movie, it doesn’t mean other people’s grandkids haven’t seen those films. Moreover, the age of a movie has no bearing on how many of the current generation of kids has seen it.

    2. Walt

most descendants are loud mouthed woke libs who could care less as long as Uncle Walt’s legacy fuels their lives – especially Abigail. The others who are not either are outcast from the family or just live their lives.

      1. PaulT

        Hey Walt, it’s “couldn’t care less”! 😎

    3. Gene

Again. Wasn’t the whole point of moving to Florida was that they had tons of room to expand? This is really ridiculous

      1. PaulT

THIS IS A GOOD POINT!!! 🙌

      2. Bob K.

Agree Gene why did they bought 27,000 acres back in the late 60’s if your not going to used it. Shame on you Disney family for not careing about this, guess the family is going woke.

      3. Aunt Polly

It’s being used, but not all of it is intended for theme park expansion or infrastructure. Some of it has been designated for wildlife conservation.

Just one more example of the woke destroying everything with tradition and history. Disney is just one small part of it run by Iger and the board who are totally completely woke. That term gets tiring – yes – but fits. Until stock holders throw the lot of them out – this slide will continue.

    1. Johnno

The expansion has nothing to do with being woke. It’s all about making more money and trying to keep up with Universal. I think destroying the Rivers of America and its beautiful views is awful and short-sighted. And Frontierland is all but gone now.

Hey it’s Gary! Walt’s very own flesh and blood, hardened “veteran” nephew and friend to stray cats everywhere. How’s Rucker high speed?

    1. Gary

The pilots in training are still flying ready to do what they are ordered to do ” so watch you back “

      1. Joe

Ya but what does that have to do with you. I think you should concentrate on your crazy rants and delusions, they make for good entertainment. Uncle Walt would not approve of your hostility.

        1. Gary

Who me you are one of Woke trying to bring down Walt’s work !!!

          1. Gary

Listen guys I will keep defending Walt’s & Roy’s Legacy namely DISNEY from anyone WOKE and others trying to ruin & change it to something not respectable & I WILL KEEP doing it till the day I kick the bucket !!!!

          2. Jiminy C.

So, Gary, what have you been doing outside of this thread to preserve Walt and Roy’s legacy?

  4. Henry Danish

Shouldn’t the first sentence say NOT much longer ?

    1. Gary

For Jimmy C. Everything in my power !!

  5. H

Walt never set foot in the Florida park. The California park isn’t losing the rivers of America… he also was a huge proponent of change and moving forward.

I hate to read all the comments about removing Walts legacy. As an ex Disney cast member I feel I need to remind you all that Walt was very much about Change and Future Vision. His designs were all about the Future At That Time. There was no such place like Disney back then. There were no cartoons and definitely no full length animated films. All things that we cherish and hold dear today but they were attempts at moving the world of entertainment forward. THAT is truly what Walt stood for so stop whining about the loss of tge past and enjoy all that the future holds.

    1. Steve

Walt is dead and that philosophy died with him. It’s over. And the Rivers of America is not changing. There is no future and there is nowhere to go but backwards, which is why after my takeover, that philosophy will go in the dustbin of history to be replaced with “Make Disney Great Again” to bring back old things and go backwards. Disney will stay stuck in the twentieth century asking “What would Walt do?” again like it did after his passing. It’s not like keeping Disney frozen in place would cause it to go bankrupt and give Universal victory.

      1. Gary

Yes, but the memory of Walt will live on in the GUEST’S who truly believe in what he created and alot of them are very angry at what is happening at DISNEY !!

        1. Gary

As far as what I am doing to preserve Walt’s & Roy’s and everyone who helped create Disney is what I am doing now in fighting for them and everyone like me who is angry will win out !!!

Walt Disney World is becoming nothing more than a mismatch of random IP-based attractions. Most of Disney’s movies aren’t even that good. There are only a handful of Disney movies that I want to watch more than once, and many we have never cared to watch. What we love about Magic Kingdom was the beauty of the plants, the water, and the birds and other nature they attract. Disney is destroying this beauty and turning the park into a concrete jungle that will be unbearable to visit during the summer.

They should keep the rivers of America and tom sawyer island and do the car thing around them or incorporate them into it somehow

  9. Tonya

I just can’t understand why the constant re-themeing instead of expanding. MK keeps getting more and more crowded. Expanding would allow for those crowds to spread out more. ROA was so beautiful.

  10. David Eisman

It would be better to reimagine Tom Sawyer Island, and the rivers of America by expanding it and enhancing it rather than replacing it with something that is so animated. Young people need to be outdoors and active more and should be introduced to history in a concrete way. Getting rid of Tom Sawyer Island is a loss in that respect

    1. You are so right. Those in charge are ruining the parks. They have no imagination now. That’s why their moves are bad. Can’t come up with new themes. Just destroy what was.

  11. First they are NOT expanding! They are destroying what is there to make something new. Walt did say that FL would allow expansion for years to come. Cars belongs at the studios. Why not use the land by Haunted Mansion for Villian Land? That fits the theme more than Frontierland. Within a few years Frontierland will be name who knows what. The Magic is leaving the Kingdom and resort. Perhaps Igor wants to rename it all Igor Land/Resort. I bought 10 shares of Disney several years ago because I loved Disney. I now see I should cut my losses as it is a company going down fast. Another old but steadfast business going away. I have not been there since 2019. Just don’t feel the excitement I had when I couldn’t wait to go every year or two. Now none of my younger relatives care to go. Which I understand. Maybe another better company will buy the US Parks. Disney can then keep making their remake movies as they have no imagination.

  12. Arturo S

There is enough land at Disney World. No need to close attractions in order to put new into place. And with attendance increasing every year, I think its wiser to also increase the number of attrancions to make more room for visitors to feel comfortable.

  13. Matthew Brewster

I also believe that this is one of the most colossal blunders in Disney World History- right down there with the Castle Cake, the Disney Institute, the removal of Mr. Toad, the AK’s Discovery Boats and the Recent CommuniCore Hall! The River is the heart of Frontierland, dammit! The area not only entertains, but preserves our country’s simpler times. In other words, it has a very strong nostalgic message. On top of that, It should be stressed that CARS DID NOT EXIST IN THE WILD WEST!!! The current plan VIOLATES THEMING RULES!! Finally, nobody mentions that the MK already has a car ride- Tomorrowland’s Speedway, which badly needs updating. So, WDI just needs to modify the location of the Carsland ride- IT SHOULD REPLACE SPEEDWAY!!
