Thousands of Magic Kingdom Park guests were refused entry to a significant portion of Tomorrowland after technical issues plagued the land. A disappointed Walt Disney World Resort guest spoke out online as they waited to experience a large part of the original Central Florida Disney park.

Magic Kingdom Park is home to Walt Disney World Resort’s newest attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The popular Splash Mountain retheme forced the Disney park to implement two Virtual Queue systems at once: one for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and another for TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Virtual Queues help guests experience brand-new attractions without spending all day in line, but they also increase wait times throughout Liberty Square, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Main Street, U.S.A. When thousands of guests aren’t spending four hours in line for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, they spread throughout other Magic Kingdom Park queues.

The situation worsened last week when Space Mountain and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover broke down simultaneously. Wait times shot up throughout Magic Kingdom Park as Disney cast members refused their entry to the popular Tomorrowland rides.

Redditor u/jadennew was at Magic Kingdom Park during the downtime and reached out to fellow Disney Parks fans for information.

“I’m not surprised one or the other is down but it is a bit odd to me that both or down at the same time, there have been many times I’ve ridden the PeopleMover through a shut down, lights on Space Mountain building,” the Disney Resort guest wrote.

Walt Disney World Resort didn’t publicly confirm the reason for the closure, but some Disney Parks fans offered insight.

“Since the people mover track goes through Space Mountain it could be a safety problem or precaution in the building shutting both down like a smoke detector etc,” said u/Informal_Process2238.

“Same breaker,” u/Cruisethrowaway2 suggested.

Space Mountain and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover eventually reopened after the multiple-hour closure. Both Walt Disney World Resort attractions operated normally at the time of this article’s publication.
