While magic can be found all over the Walt Disney World Resort, certain rides and attractions are considered more popular than others, with Disney’s Hollywood Studios being home to some of Disney’s best rides.

The addition of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019 changed this theme park and the Walt Disney World Resort forever, offering guests a chance to escape and become part of their own Star Wars story. Several new rides and attractions were added along with Galaxy’s Edge, making the land one of the most popular and crowded areas in Disney theme park history.

However, Hollywood Studios is home to several other popular rides, like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is one of Disney’s most intense and thrilling rides ever. Despite opening over two decades ago, this exhilarating roller coaster continues to be one of Walt Disney World’s most popular attractions, competing with other major experiences like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Unfortunately, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed at the start of the year for an extensive refurbishment. Details regarding the closure were not officially released, but a permit was filed for the ride in conjunction with Adena Corporation, a company that has worked with Disney on previous projects like TRON Lightcycle / Run.

The closure of this roller coaster earlier this year left a massive hole in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Walt Disney World Resort in general, though Disney has reassured guests they will be able to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster once again this summer.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is scheduled to reopen on July 27, 2024, marking a closure of over six months. This date was kept secret for quite a while but was revealed earlier this month by Disney itself. However, with a little over a month to go, Disney has updated the attraction’s operating hours, giving fans even more to look forward to.

In an update to the My Disney Experience app, new operating hours for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster have been added. The attraction will reopen on Saturday, July 27, at 8:30 a.m. and will close at 9:00 p.m.

While these hours are not surprising, they are exciting, as they give guests more information about the legendary roller coaster.

The ride’s refurbishment was rumored to include a plethora of ride system upgrades and adjustments to the attraction’s overall safety. Other rumors suggested the ride shut down so Disney could retheme the attraction entirely, however these are completely unfounded.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s story is based on the legendary rock band Aerosmith, with all key members playing a part in the ride’s pre-show. Frontman Steven Tyler talks and waves as guests figure out a way to get to the band’s next show” really fast.” Due to the recent controversy surrounding Steven Tyler, fans have theorized Disney was looking for a way to drop the Aerosmith theming entirely.

Will you be visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer?
