Security cast members apprehended an adult woman after responding to a disturbance on Soarin’ Over California at Disney California Adventure Park on Saturday. All guests evacuated the ride as the woman’s erratic behavior posed a safety risk.

After a brief stint in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT last year, Soarin’ Over California is again exclusive to Grizzly Peak at Disney California Adventure Park. What’s old is new again, as the West Coast-themed simulator ride was recently refurbished with an updated screen and awe-inspiring special effects.

“Thrill as you’re raised high into the air in front of an 80-foot projection dome for a virtual tour across the Golden State,” Disneyland Resort writes. “Incredible IMAX digital projection and spectacular aerial footage simulate the graceful motion of flight. This timeless, majestic bird has never looked better!”

Flights were delayed on Saturday, March 30, when Disney cast members responded to what Redditor u/D3fn0t4b0t called a “loud” and “obnoxious” outburst on Soarin’ Over California.

“Was anyone else on Soarin’ Over California Saturday when a really loud obnoxious guest was removed?” the guest asked other Disney Parks fans. “She was so loud I could hear her from the back of the line and it looked like everyone around her was miserable but nobody said anything.”

“Once we all got seated the lady and her friend [were] asked to leave,” they continued. “…She was still there when we left and unloaded…After the ride there was [security] waiting for her.”

u/JanetSnakehole was in the same Soarin’ Over California boarding group. Through a series of stressful circumstances, they ended up next to the unruly Disney Park guest.

“My [boyfriend] and I were sitting right next to her on the ride before she was asked to get off,” the guest recalled. “I did not notice or hear her until we got inside the queue. I looked ahead because someone was being extremely loud. She was chatting up a father and daughter who didn’t seem like they wanted to interact with her. As we were assigned rows, the couple in front of us asked the [cast member] if they could get on the next ride because they didn’t want to be near her.”

“That’s when we ended up directly behind her,” they explained. “She was again loudly chatting up a new family. When we were seated, she continued being loud af and recorded a video with her friend.”

At this point, Soarin’ Over California cast members evacuated everyone in a clever maneuver to non-confrontationally de-board the woman and her friend.

“A [cast member] came by our row and asked all of us to unbuckle our seatbelts because there appeared to be a malfunction,” u/JanetSnakehole continued. “They determined it was her seat and asked her and her friend to get off, but said they’d let them on the next ride. Then they put the red out of order [sign] on her seat, but removed it before the ride started.”

When the guest and her boyfriend finished riding, they spotted the two women standing in a taped-off area near the exit. Unsurprisingly, they never made it onto Soarin’ Over California.

“Further down the hall around the corner was a bunch of security,” the guest said. “My bf and I waited outside at the exit to see if she would emerge with the next riders. She didn’t.”
