A sequel to the awful Winnie the Pooh horror film has been released, and once again, it has disturbed critics, mainly because it turns out they actually liked it.

Based on the works of author AA Milne and illustrator EH Shephard, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023) shocked Disney fans around the world with a murderous and terrifying adaptation of Pooh Bear and Piglet, who were after Christopher Robin for abandoning them in the Hundred Acre Wood to starve to death.
Disney fans and critics despised the film, condemning it on social media and in reviews. Still, the film was a massive success, earning over $5 million on a $50,000 budget. A sequel was quickly announced and released a year later. Critics were once again shocked by the film, except this time because it was a decent movie.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 (2024) takes everything that fans loved about the first film and takes it to a new level, including adding new citizens from the Hundred Acre Wood like Tigger and Owl.
With the release of Blood and Honey 2, critics were more than ready to dive into the film and tear it apart, especially after the previous film was so poorly received. However, many were surprised to see that the sequel was not only an improvement on the original but also a decent film.

Blood and Honey 2 debuted with a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. While this didn’t last long, it only dropped to 63% at the time of writing, meaning it was still “certified fresh.” However, this could change with more mainstream critics reviewing the film. Still, this is a massive improvement over the first film, which is sitting at an astonishing 3%.
On top of this, the audience remains at a high 82%, meaning fans of B-level horror movies will likely enjoy it. In fact, it has already garnered enough success that director Rhys Frake-Waterfield has already greenlit a third film. That’s right, Blood and Honey is now a trilogy.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 (TBA) will introduce even more characters, including Rabbit, Heaffalumps, and Woozles. All of them will meet with murderous versions of Peter Pan, Bambi, Pinocchio, and more to form a Disney horror universe called the “Poohniverse.”
