The Disney parks and resorts are notorious for their impressive list of rides and attractions. From Pirates of the Caribbean and Peter Pan’s Flight to Matterhorn Bobsleds and Space Mountain, there is absolutely no end in sight to all of the fun and magical experiences to be had at Disney. This is true whether guests visit Walt Disney World in Florida or the original Disneyland Resort in California, though the latter features more iconic and legendary rides and attractions.

One of these legendary rides is Alice in Wonderland, a ride unique to Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort. The ride places guests directly into the world of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (1951) and has been a staple of the park for decades. However, as rides age, problems arise, and breakdowns become more common. This is something we see across all the Disney resorts, with rides like “it’s a small world” and Haunted Mansion encountering issues on a consistent basis.

Recently, guests found themselves stuck on Disneyland’s Alice in Wonderland attraction and were later taken into a backstage area.

A few dozen guests had to evacuate their ride vehicles during an incident on Alice in Wonderland. One guest took a photo of a backstage area they were led through by a cast member, sharing their findings online. Reddit user urmomisfun posted a picture of what appears to be a backstage workshop area.

“We broke down on Alice during early entry,” stated the guest, “And I was able to take this picture when we were being taken off the ride. I found this very interesting.”

Wheels and motors can be seen in the photo, indicating this area is some sort of storage bay or workshop for the attraction. Ride breakdowns are always interesting, giving guests more time to take in the details and all of the intricacies of their favorite attractions.

While ride breakdowns are quite common, it’s incredibly rare to actually get evacuated from an attraction and even more rare to walk through a backstage area such as this one. Disneyland has very strict rules as to where guests can and can’t go, but during an evacuation, guests are sometimes brought into the “secret” areas of the parks.

What Disney ride would you like to get evacuated from?
