Disney World Transportation Service Shuts Down, Guests Forced to Find Alternative Means

Yesterday morning, the ferry boat that usually operates daily, taking guests from the Magic Kingdom theme park to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and the other way around, closed without warning, making hundreds of guests rethink their strategy to enter the theme park.

This interruption disrupted vacation plans for guests seeking to enter the Magic Kingdom Disney park early or at least before the crowds arrived yesterday morning.

Unfortunately, hundreds of guests who did not have strollers or who were wheelchair-bound were advised to take the busses as a faster way to reach the theme park instead of waiting in a line that ended up taking over an hour to get through just to enter the parks.

The Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom Explained

The ferry boat transportation service at Disney World offers guests a convenient and scenic means of traveling between the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and the various theme parks within the expansive Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. As a central transportation hub, the TTC efficiently connects visitors to popular destinations such as Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT via ferry boats.

Travelers can access the ferry boats from marked docks near the TTC. These well-appointed vessels feature ample seating options, both indoors and outdoors, enabling passengers to bask in the breathtaking views of the Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake throughout their voyage.

Operating consistently throughout the day, the ferry boats adjust their frequency based on park hours and passenger demand. During peak periods, such as park opening and closing times, supplementary ferry boats may be deployed to accommodate the heightened influx of guests.

Included with park admission, this transportation service offers a delightful and leisurely commencement or conclusion to a day spent exploring the theme parks. Providing a tranquil and picturesque journey, it allows guests to unwind while immersing themselves in the enchanting ambiance of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Some other free transportation services for guests at Disney World include the monorail, Disney Skyliner, Disney busses, and watercraft options.
