Disney has announced a new “notify me” option that promises to streamline the ticket-buying process, offering users the convenience of digital notifications when it’s their turn to enter the virtual ticket store.

For decades, Disneyland has been one of the most popular destinations for vacations in the world. Since its opening in 1955, Walt Disney’s vision of a fantastical theme park where dreams come true has captivated millions of guests from around the world. Over the years, Disneyland has evolved into a sprawling resort complex, encompassing not only the original Disneyland Park but also Disney California Adventure Park, multiple hotels, and Downtown Disney District—a vibrant shopping, dining, and entertainment hub.

Despite its popularity, one perennial headache for guests at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort at times has been the arduous process of purchasing tickets, particularly during peak seasons or for special events. Long gone are the days of simply strolling up to the ticket booth and gaining entry; in today’s digital age, securing Disneyland tickets often involves navigating complex online queues, enduring frustrating wait times, and hoping against hope that tickets– or passes– don’t sell out before you reach the front of the virtual line.

Enter the long-awaited solution: the “notify me” option. This innovative feature promises to revolutionize the ticket-buying experience, offering users the option to receive digital notifications when it’s their turn to enter the ticket store.

But when can eager Disney enthusiasts expect to take advantage of this game-changing feature? According to reports, Disney will be implementing the “notify me” option for the sale of tickets to Star Wars Nites, a highly anticipated separately ticketed event set to take place at Disneyland Park on select dates in April and May 2024.

The ticket to this event also includes admission to Disneyland Park as early as 6:00 p.m.—that’s 3 hours before the party begins—on the valid date of your ticket. Guests with a ticket to this event do not need to make a theme park reservation to enter Disneyland Park at 6:00 p.m. or later. The event will take place on April 16, 18, 23, 25, and 30, May 2, 7, and 9, 2024. Tickets start at $159.00 apiece.

Here’s what Disney says about Star Wars Nite:

“For select nights in April and May, Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite will grant Guests of all ages special after-hours access to Disneyland Park with the purchase of a separate event admission ticket. Enjoy Star Wars Character sightings, event-themed menu selections and exciting entertainment—including a lightsaber instructional and the Fans of the Force Costume Cavalcade, a celebration that invites Guests dressed in Star Wars costumes to join in a march down Main Street, U.S.A.! Plus, discover special Star Wars-themed photo opportunities, merchandise and more!”

Inspire Magic Key holders, Disney’s membership program, are the first to enjoy the benefits of the new system. Starting on February 20, 2024, Inspire Key holders began having the exclusive opportunity to purchase pre-sale tickets for Star Wars Nite, with general Magic Key holders gaining access in the following days.

The introduction of the “notify me” option represents a significant step forward in Disney’s ongoing efforts to enhance the guest experience and adapt to the evolving demands of the digital age.
