Which Universal Park Is the Article Discussing?

The article discusses an attraction from Universal Orlando Resort, Islands of Adventure. Universal Orlando Resort was built and opened on June 7, 1990, in Orlando, Florida. NBCUniversal owns the parks.

Theme Parks:

  • Universal Studios Florida: This park is known for its movie and TV-themed attractions. Visitors can experience rides and shows inspired by famous films and franchises such as Harry Potter, Transformers, and The Simpsons.
  • Islands of Adventure: This park is divided into different islands, each with its theme. Notable areas include The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Marvel Super Hero Island, and Jurassic Park. Islands of Adventure features a mix of thrilling rides, shows, and interactive experiences.
  • Volcano Bay: Universal’s Volcano Bay is a water theme park that offers a tropical oasis with water attractions, slides, and a massive volcano centerpiece. It utilizes a virtual queue system for many of its popular slides.
  • Epic Universe (Coming Summer 2025): Universal will also be opening another theme park, more significant than all the theme parks mentioned above, titled Epic Universe, and will feature new themed lands, resort hotels, and much more.

Universal Orlando Resort is also home to CityWalk, a vibrant entertainment complex between theme parks. It features a variety of restaurants, shops, nightclubs, and entertainment venues. It’s a popular destination for dining and nightlife. Universal also features eight onsite resorts like Loews’s Aventura Resort, Cabana Bay Resort, and Universal’s Endless Summer Resorts.

But besides these fantastic things, Universal is also home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which features places from the film franchise and rides based on the most magical parts of this immersive world. One such ride is called The Flight of the Hippogriff, located inside Hogsmeade, which is inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

The Universal Park is raising some eyebrows after a posted wait time mentioned the beloved Harry Potter ride being at 990 minutes. Yikes!

Long wait?

Long wait?

A Reddit user of u/escfan34 posted the above image showing the attraction’s posted wait time on the Universal app used for guests who visit the parks and want to check out the current posted wait times for the rides throughout the parks.

With the posted wait time of 990 minutes, that would mean that guests currently inside the park were waiting for over 16 hours, almost an entire day. But this was likely primarily due to a technical glitch within the app, giving guests an overly exaggerated wait time, with the actual wait time most likely being somewhere between 30 to 45 minutes.

Still, the posted wait time did raise quite a few eyebrows across the community, with most guests poking fun at the wait time. “Yeah, that’s correct. I’m in Amsterdam, and just walked past the queue,” said one guest in the Reddit thread. Another guest said they were in Canada, and the line “goes past my house.”

Seeing the Universal community’s fun and witty sense of humor towards this unfortunate and inaccurate posted wait time is good.

Universal Studios Orlando is similar to Universal Studios Hollywood but also different in many ways. Unlike Walt Disney World Resort, a Universal Orlando ticket will get you into theme parks that feel like you’re riding the movies. You can visit SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Hollywood, which will soon arrive in Orlando. Universal Parks are the best places to vacation if you’re looking for something different from the Disney Parks.

What’s the longest you’ve waited for a ride when visiting Universal Orlando Resort?
