Dining is one of the most essential parts of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. There are dozens of quick service, table service, and Character Dining restaurants throughout Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, and Disney Resort hotels.

The Disney Dining Plan returns to the Central Florida Disney parks in January. Guests can book the package now, pre-paying for meals through the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan. The popular add-on disappeared when Walt Disney World Resort reopened during the COVID-19 pandemic, and fans begged for years for its return.

Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels may reserve dining up to 60 days before the first day of their Disney Parks vacation via the website, My Disney Experience app, or via phone (407-939-5277). Popular experiences like Space 220, Chef Mickey’s, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and Akershus book up within minutes.

One Walt Disney World Resort guest panicked on Tuesday after being locked out of their family’s carefully booked dining reservations in the My Disney Experience app. Reddit user u/thegreatupsetter said the reservations disappeared from their Disney vacation plans after a different family member received the confirmation email.

“I called to make reservations for a large group on my 60 days out and everything went smoothly, gave my credit card and everything,” the guest explained. “But when I go to look at MDE they do not exist and when I emailed they said that there is not a reservation for those days under the names I provided.”

The guest didn’t want to get charged for no-showing the reservations if they still existed, but also wanted their bookings back.

“I mainly just do not want to get charged but also I really needed one of those reservations and they are all gone now,” they wrote. “…Grandmom had the reservation emails even though it didn’t populate in her [My Disney Experience].”

Thankfully, Disney cast members helped the guest solve their issues.

“Got it solved by Disney this morning,” they said Wednesday. “Cast member found the reservations for me this morning and populated them into my account.”

Inside the Magic recommends saving all confirmation emails for your Walt Disney World Resort travel plans. Disney restaurants ask for your last name instead of looking at your My Disney Experience app upon check-in, so even missing reservations will be honored.
