Disney is widely recognized for its innovative approach — which can be seen in the integration of augmented reality elements into attractions like the Haunted Mansion and the use of advanced drone technology in their renowned nighttime shows. Despite Disney’s dedication to excellence, however, there are naturally instances where this exceptional standard is not fully realized.

However, on the whole, Disney is known for delivering stellar guest experiences at their theme parks around the world.

The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, is renowned as “The Happiest Place On Earth,” a phrase coined by Walt Disney himself and consistently upheld throughout the company’s history.

Over the years, Disney’s influence has transcended borders, reaching destinations such as the Walt Disney World Resort and the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) in Orlando, Florida. The impact of the Disney Resort brand has expanded even more, encompassing iconic locations like the Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Shanghai Disney Resort, and the Disneyland Paris Resort.

Frozen (2013) has become crucial to Disney’s success today after its surprising popularity with kids when it debuted. The animated film, featuring memorable characters Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Princess Anna (Kristen Bell), became a blockbuster hit at the box office, achieving one of the highest-grossing statuses in animation history. The cast also featured Santino Fontana as Hans of the Southern Isles, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf the Snowman.

Its success transcended cinema, leading to the development of a lucrative franchise with merchandise and even theme park attractions like Frozen Ever After. The film franchise’s longevity, in part, comes from a chart-topping soundtrack anchored by the iconic song “Let It Go”. The film’s cultural resonance, broad appeal, and critical acclaim, including two Academy Awards, have solidified Frozen as a cornerstone of Disney’s success in the modern age.

Beyond financial success, Frozen has become a cultural touchstone. The franchise not only contributed significantly to Disney’s revenue but also expanded into a sequel, titled Frozen 2 (stylized Frozen II), adding Evan Rachel Wood as Queen Iduna (Elsa and Anna’s mother), Alfred Molina as King Agnarr (Elsa and Anna’s father), Sterling K. Brown as Lieutenant Destin Mattias, Jason Ritter as Ryder Nattura, Rachel Matthews as Honeymaren, and Jeremy Sisto as King Runeard.

Disney’s Upcoming World of Frozen

Disney has revealed their upcoming plan for the imminent World of Frozen themed land that is coming to two (and potentially three) Disney parks around the world. So far, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s World of Frozen is nearly ready, set to debut on November 20, 2023.

It seems as if Disney is ready to “test run” this Frozen land over at Hong Kong Disneyland (not unlike the upcoming Zootopia (2016) themed land also slated to debut there). Since The Walt Disney Company is set to develop a new themed area in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as well as improve pre-existing areas in EPCOT.

Disney is now revealing what the World of Frozen will most likely look like in the Disney parks set to receive this new land.

So far, the World of Frozen has been announced to feature rides like a retooled Frozen Ever After — just like the ride in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion — as well as a new ride called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, and a new food option, the Golden Crocus Inn.

Currently, Hong Kong Disneyland’s (and The Walt Disney Company’s first) World of Frozen has had its map revealed, in an exciting update on the official Disney app for Hong Kong Disneyland:

On top of the major E-ticket rides, the World of Frozen will also host many more fun and interesting locations and attractions. The Disney Parks blog explains it as follows:

It’s also home to many iconic landmarks such as Arendelle Castle, Friendship Fountain, Clock Tower Square, and the North Mountain with Elsa’s Ice Palace. King Agnarr Bridge – named after Anna and Elsa’s father, and Arendelle’s one-time king – connects the village to the forest side where Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, Playhouse in the Woods, Forest Fare and Traveling Traders are located.

Currently, other iterations of the Frozen land have been revealed for Tokyo Disney Resort’s new Fantasy Springs area to debut in 2024, with another potential land planned for Paris Disneyland Resort’s Walt Disney Studios.
