Johnny Depp IS Captain Jack Sparrow. It is a part only he can succeed in portraying. I will watch any new POTC movie as long as it has Johnny Depp. I cannot imagine any other actor taking the role. It would be unfair to both a new actor and the actor who created the Jack Sparrow persona.
Unless he’s committed heinous crimes, it should not affect his on-screen performances. For heaven’s sake, Disney, give us back Captain Jack Sparrow!
I am pretty sure that Johnny Depp doesn’t own Jack Sparrow legally. But morally he does, in my opinion. He did make people fall in love with the guy and made the Pirates Of .. movies what they are today, so I can’t see anyone else playing the captain.
But Disney probably have copyright on the character, so owns him that way.
Something Jack would hate, by the way 🙂 He might as well work for Beckett and the East Indian Company, then.

Johnny Depp is Captain Jack Sparrow it would be unwise for Disney to replace Johnny Depp I wouldn’t watch it nor would anyone I know everybody’s angry
