I’ve been on Runaway Railway at Disneyland Resort a number of times. I haven’t been injured or hurt. But the shaky movement in the desert part is kind of annoying. It doesn’t really do much for me in the ride experience. And it makes me tense up to stay upright, since there aren’t any side seat barriers to lean on like on other rides.
The movement of the ride is very flat and horizontal plane, compared to Rise of the Resistance, another trackless ride. In Rise, there are elevator parts. And the simulated drop has tilting movements that are smooth. I don’t remember any jerky flat movements like Railway has.
Not an injury per se, we were camping in Fort Wilderness. There was 8 of us. My sons and husband slept in the tent and my parents and I were in our motor home. In the morning my youngest came to me saying he was itchy. I looked and he had fire ant bites everywhere! We had to go to see nurse on Main Street for Benadryl or calamine. He was fine.
At 6’8″, I have a hard time “fitting” on many attractions at DisneyWorld. However, I have never experienced the things described in this article. Maybe the ride is different in DisneyWorld compared to Disneyland.

And yet, I don’t
hear complaints about the Indiana Jones ride which whips you all over the place. Suck it up, buttercups. Indy is much worse
