In all honesty, shouldn’t it be closed during safety inspections? I mean how are inspectors to do their job properly if it is running with guests?

    1. Ruthann

Exactly. I know there are probably way more injuries than the public is allowed to know.

      1. Ernie

        Simple: a dummy Facist

Disney has a strangle hold on the media.

Here are a few incidents you most likely never heard of..

        Disney World Safety Incidents

        Model: GPT-4

How many people have been killed or severely injured at Disney world over the years?

As an AI, I don’t have real-time information, and my knowledge only goes up until September 2021. Up to that point, there have been a limited number of deaths and serious injuries at Walt Disney World since its opening in 1971. While it’s difficult to provide an exact number, several incidents have occurred over the years, including ride malfunctions, accidents, and medical emergencies unrelated to the attractions themselves.

Disney World has a strong safety record overall, and they continually update and improve their safety measures to ensure the wellbeing of their guests. However, accidents and injuries can still happen. For the most up-to-date information, it’s recommended to check reliable news sources or official statements from Disney.

Please note that this list may not be exhaustive, and for the most accurate information, it’s important to consult official sources or reliable news agencies.

In 1973, an 18-year-old guest died after falling from the Skyway attraction, a suspended gondola ride.
In 1980, a 10-year-old boy drowned in the moat surrounding Cinderella Castle.
In 1982, a 4-year-old boy drowned in the moat near the entrance to the “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” attraction.
In 2000, a 37-year-old man was killed after being struck by a falling metal cleat on the Columbia Harbour House restaurant’s dock.
In 2003, a 22-year-old man died after a wheel assembly fell off the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction, causing the train to derail.
In 2005, a 4-year-old boy died on the “Mission: Space” attraction due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
In 2007, a 12-year-old boy with a congenital heart defect died after riding the “Expedition Everest” roller coaster.
In 2019, a 61-year-old man died after falling into a vat of chemicals at a wastewater facility on Disney World property.

        1. Jeffrey Anderson

Wow except 1980 I was overseas and the kid with the heart defect I heard of all these when they happened

        2. Cesar

          DeSantis got married there!

        3. Chuck

Disney has had millions of guest over the years . I think their safety record speaks for itself. Nothing perfect

      3. H. Irizarry

I am so sick and tired of watching this petulant child screw with our #1 source of tourism and our #1 employer in the State just to fulfill his child like behavior. I hope Disney strikes him down like a Cockroach..

        1. Jaay

DeathSantis will be the end for Floriduh!

      4. Kev

Monorails are notoriously unsafe, see the Simpsons? But if my truck, bus needs to be inspected so should this it’s a public conveyance

        1. Jaime

Very true but you have your truck inspected at your convenience do the same for Disney.

      5. De Santis is a power hungery fool that needs to be stoped. He brings only shame to our state. He sould have never been elected.

        1. Jaime

You are so very right Ruth

    2. Mike

The New York subway system doesn’t shut down for inspections.
Or inspections could be done before three park opens in the morning, and done in sections over several days. However, I see DeSantis sending only 1 inspector to do the inspections and the entire writeup, thereby shutting down the monorail system for days. Also calling for surprise inspections so Disney cannot have alternate plans for their guests to get to the park.

      1. Kev

Would they do that for your truck or bus? Not likely and subway is inspected owned by gvt not private corporation. I’ve worked in bus truck biz and believe me all commercial vehicles should be inspected by third party gvt inspectors

      2. Cindy

Monorail inspections are done nightly as it is at close of monorail operations. Their safety record is fantastic.

There is a petulant child acting as governor of our state and enough is enough. Hope Disney sues the hell out of him.

    3. Deb

Disney has always done all that. Now DeSantis board want to be a**’s about it to punish Disney for DeSantis. Totally messed up.

    4. Jeffrey Anderson

They do inspections at night when it’s and Disney inspectors are THE STANDARD for the business. Desantis is unconstitutionally messing with Disney but actually costing taxpayers more money. Remember that at the polls.

  2. Tom

I, for one, am glad that our governor is focusing on the big issues. Other governors might focus on crime or poverty. Not Ronda! Ronda focuses on fashion choices and cartoon mice!

    1. Jimmy

Orlando, FL — In a stunning move, the Walt Disney Company has announced that it will be relocating Disney World from Orlando, Florida to a new 1000-acre parcel of land outside Atlanta, Georgia. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for August 2023.

      1. Deb

I don’t think so. Igar already said it would be too costly to move. A few stars have opened their arms to Disney, with no response. I’d like it closer to home. Time will tell😊

      2. Gov.leave deseny alone. They bringing in tourists to Florida and add in business revenue. Work in cooperation for better good of all.

      3. BillyBob

You mean next to the new prison?

        1. Barbie Stroess

There’s already two prisons near WDW. What’s one more ?

      4. Kendall

That is the BEST NEWS IV HEARD IN A LONG TIME!! Good By to the RAT!!!

      5. Doug

Keep dreaming, you need about 34000 more acres to make that happen. The construction costs of today make a new theme park too expensive. Just 1 mile of monorail track constructed today would cost about 100 million dollars. That is assessed at the average cost of the last 4 monorails constructed in the world . The monorail is a mass transit device now in an area that is not exempted from Florida legislation. They did this

      6. Dawn

        That was satire

  3. Lynn Canavan

Stop it DeSantis!! Leave Disney alone. Don’t you have some other more important issues to deal with in the state without this? Leave the mouse alone for our children and grandchildren.
    Concentrate on other issues!!

    1. Rich Kopystynsky

He’s too busy running for president. He’s trying to impress the idiots with what a culture warrior he is.

      1. Kate

Let’s stick with the old rule: “Resign to run.” Another one he wants to do away with. The DeSantis won’t even declare he’s a candidate!

        1. Jay

          Recall desantis

    2. Mike

      You take your children there??
      That’s creepy.

      1. Dale

Your creepy either you like or you don’t but don’t spoil it for other

      2. Deb

I’d love to hear what he has to say when his children ask to go to Disney. What a dip stick!!

      3. Zara

If you think Disney is creepy then I feel sorry for your kids, what a joy you must be to them 🤣

      4. Pling

You realize Desantis got married at WDW, right?

    3. Kathy

This reminds me of kids fighting. Lol. Disney come to Virginia

      1. MariOh

Check it out! There is no reason other than political or money to go against Disney. I’m sure any state would love to welcome WDW.

  4. Carl

Disney preaches safety first so I would think this would be something good for Disney. Shutting down for safety inspections seems to be prudent.

    1. Dwight Shropshire

He will delay it significant. He is being petty!

      1. Linda

DeSantis must be stopped. He is a vindictive bully. He retaliates against anyone who doesn’t totally agree with him! Disney brings in our our biggest tourist dollars. Leave them alone!!!

        1. Chris

          Agreed

          1. Gov.leave deseny alone. They bringing in tourists to Florida and add in business revenue. Work in cooperation for better good of all.

        2. Carlos

The governor desantis is the most ridiculous governor in this country Broward recently suffered by flooding and this guy after five days call for emergency state don’t loose time punished Disney you and the commissioners concentrate in more important things about the state

    2. GP

Meanwhile, he can’t even get the Florida Republican Congressional delegation to support him for president. He’s falling faster than the Hollywood Tower of Terror.

    3. Paul W

Yes, IF the safety inspections are genuinely needed, IF all other places with private transportation are scheduled for the same state inspections (e.g.SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Universal), IF all other special districts in the state are going to be subject to equivalent rules that Ron is trying to impose, then I might actually give this a pass. However, the governor is doing none of that. He is clearly being discriminatory against one single entity and that is simply not right.

      1. Jason

Has impeachment crossed the minds of the other lawmakers.

      2. Chuck

Like the State insurance crisis, nobody agrees with you Gov. Except your political puppets

      3. Deb

        Absolutely Paul 👍🏻

      4. Cindy

I agree.. if you’re going to impose inspection on you need to inspect all.

    4. Mike Nagy

Why don’t our governor stop all the insurance increases or housing increases or rent prices and leave businesses alone who bring revenue in to our state

      1. Rhonda Santis is a baby

Because if he actually helped the people in our State, he’d be doing his job. He doesn’t know how to do his job because he is blinded by childish behavior in a grown up body. He needs to stop his vendetta and concentrate on the people.

    5. Diane

I wish our governor would act more like a leader than a bully in a schoolyard. He’s such a joke. And he certainly doesn’t act like a Republican when he attacks the states largest tax payer and largest employer. Can you imagine him as president!?

    6. RR

It’s only common sense that things are shut down when they are being inspected. How many accidents have you heard about happening at Disney? Not many cuz they are that safe already!

    7. Teddy Gingerich

Thing is, they have some of the most stringent safety inspectors in the business already. Guests don’t come back if they get hurt (or worse) on attractions. This is just another level of petty childish behavior. i expect him to shut it down for days just to be – well, petty and childish.

    8. Debz

That will be there excuse for shutting them down. Than make bogas things that are not really wrong. DeSantis needs to be impeached by the people.

  5. Sue

    Disney today, what corporations tomorrow?
He needs to feed and shelter Florida homeless living in cars. Fix our bridges and roads. Make people feel safer not more scared with concealed guns everywhere Make affordable housing not jails.

  6. Jimmy

Orlando, FL — In a stunning move, the Walt Disney Company has announced that it will be relocating Disney World from Orlando, Florida to a new 1000-acre parcel of land outside Atlanta, Georgia.

    1. May I ask where you saw or heard this?

    2. Teresa

That article noted that it was satire.

  7. Anonymous

Omg this is ultimately disgusting! Disney is not grooming kids for crying out loud. It has been and always will be a place for all ages and every walk of life. Desatis, as one of the many names he is called, is just an over grown bully who needs to be taken down a few notches. Typical man compensating for something. Probably a small penis. If we don’t stop this stupidity we are going to have a lot of our freedoms taken away. He is sending florida down the tube. You think it’s hard getting a job now just wait if disney does decide to take one of the other states up on their offer and move.

  8. Dj

I just curious if something went wrong when he had HIS wedding at Disney???? Is this a mistake he regrets…..just sayin’. He’s attacking with all he’s got the place that was supposed to remind him of the happiest day of his life…..hmmmm…maybe not so happy.

    1. Christina S.

He’s only stirring the pot because of his hopes to become POTUS, leaving this chaos in his wake.

  9. Howard

It hurt to even say that he’s our Governor, I haven’t seen temper tantrums like this since preschool trying ever truck he muster Shameful.
Ron ,have you and your family been to Disneyland, have you been schooled here, what your deal.
Poor Florida has to deal with this when there are bigger things ,like children being killed ,guns in schools , how many tricks in you bag have you pulled out to try to solve real problems.
On side Governor was bad choice for Florida.
Thank you Lord that he can’t run again, and please, please, don’t ever allow him to run the United States.
If he does we will be back in the stone age .
Ok ladies you have no choice over your body , next he’ll take away your Voting privileges.
Sincerely sad for us Floridians , were head back in time.

    1. Nikki

Absolutely!!! But we also have to realize that the people that voted him back in are just like him….

  10. M Preston Chandler

What it boils down to is that he is a small, petty individual who is throwing a temper tantrum because someone (coutesty of Citizens United, corporations are people) had the audacity to say “Enough!”

  11. DWIGHT THOMAS

U dam fools this is America not a dictatorship..there always way to resolve issues..y now after all these year Disneyland has been in Florida doesn’t make sense

    1. Walt

Not a dictatorship? Have you been watching the dictatorial edicts coming out of Dementia Joe’s administration? Oh I forgot those are ok. And by the way Disneyland is in California not Florida.

      1. Deb

        Thank you Walt

      2. Rick

        “(You damn) fools?”
Wow, Walt. Tone it down. Are you related to Rubbish Ron and taking this personally? I agree there are better ways to resolve this issue of “free speech.” Quit retaliating against someone who disagrees with you and work on things that matter – housing, insurance, disaster relief, violence prevention, poverty assistance. You know, things that can really help the people of Florida.

        1. Not all agree with him. Some people vote along party lines only and would vote for a cat turd if it was on the Republican ticket.

      3. Pop Escobed

        Like what, exactly?

      4. Debz

Walt, it’s Disney in Florida everyone is talking about. You gotta keep up. Maybe do some research to find out what’s going on?

    2. Tim

Disneyland has never been in Florida. It has always been located in Anaheim, California. Walt Disney World has been in Florida for a little over 50 years now. It started with The Magic Kingdom, the monorail, The ferry boats and 3 resorts The Contemporary, The Polynesian and Fort Wilderness Camping Resort.

  12. BlueCollarCritic

For those not aware, the monorail isn’t running 24×7 since Disney opened either. Prior to this there’s been times when the monorail was closed for maintenance so this really is a nothing burger. It’s just something for petty Disney worshippers to gripe about because Florida has a governor who is not going to tolerate a company like Disney trying to tell the government how to run things.

    Get Woke, Go Broke!

    1. Sheryl

Disney is not telling the governor how to run things, they just disagreed with him and stopped funding his campaign. He’s throwing a tantrum because he’s not getting their money!!

      1. Jill E. Bean

        Spot on 💯

      2. Rita

Totally agree. Big cry baby. And he wants to run for President God help us all.

    2. Mike Nagy

Your a fool he’s a dictator I thought republicans want less government pull books stop women health care

    3. Deb

Disney isn’t telling the governor what he do. They are saying don’t force your views on everyone. You need to learn to live with different views and opinions. You don’t have to agree, just learn that people are different.

  13. mark

Maybe you should concentrate on homeowners insurance instead of trying to kill a mouse. It is like watching your kid have a temper tantrum

    1. Tim

So, what about Homeowner Insurance? I live a state that has the Highest rates next to California. What you do is take it upon yourself and price shop for yourself.

    2. Bottom line, Desantis does not honor freedom of speech! If he runs for president, he will not get my vote! As for Biden, he’s created enough problems for our country! If he gets 4 more years, kiss the land of the free good-bye! The USA needs a strong, level headed person in office and it’s not Desantis or Biden!

  14. Kris

It’s time to pause any future development in Florida until DeSantis is gone. 2 can play at the his game 🤷‍♀️

  15. Kim

DeSantis is embarrassing…Its a bad look for a grown man to be so obviously petty. I wonder if he stomps his feet in private when he doesn’t get his way.

    1. Asdfjkl;

Ironically during Covid when DeSantis hosted a public meeting with the cruiselines trying to get cruising resumed, it was the Disney exec that stomped their chair (while Carnival was speaking).

    2. Teddy Gingerich

Now I have the image of his face all screwed up (as it seems to be in every photo), stomping his little white go go boots. lol

  16. Dee jay

I wish to God he would leave Disney alone 😔 there are sooo many more important issues he hasn’t addressed. The immigration , the gas ⛽️ prices, crime increasing, the environmental issues. Did Mickey piss on your foot when you were little. You are acting like a tyrant that got pissed off because someone disagrees with you

    1. Walt

There is nothing he can do about immigration – that is a Federal issue BIDEN. And when they bussed illegals (who agreed to the trip) north people complained about that. Gas Prices again TALK to BIDEN. He claims he has opened up sites for drilling when in fact he has done nothing of the sort. He is completely cotrolled by the radical left – which is why he went hat in hand begging the Saudis to pump more – who told him to pound sand. Oh did I mention his back stabing the Saudis caused them to turn to Iran and China – Congrats on that one Joey. What environmental issues? The air water and land is cleaner here then ever before. CHINA is building coal fired plants at an astronomical rate and pumping UNSCRUBBED emissions into the atmosphere – laughing at us. I suggest you all learn Maderin.

      1. Rick

Obviously your reading comprehension is lacking. Nowhere did I read the name of our President in this article about a useless governor.

      2. Debz

Walt everything you said about President is Hogwash. Stop spewing bull 💩.

  17. JT

DeSantis is sounding like a real spoiled brat at this point. Some whose ego is that fragile couldn’t be trusted to run the country. Maybe someone should hand him a big rattle.

    1. Rich

Ron is a big ass he needs to grow up and quit being a baby and stop crying. There are so many more issues that need addressing here in Florida.I wouldn’t vote for his sorry ass for president if he runs…

  18. Mike

Using the power of government to harass a private business, and inconvenience its consumers, is not a nothing burger. It’s anti-constitution freedom of speech, anti-American, and also direct contradiction of what Republicans have been preaching for years.

  19. Dick

I have voted for DeSantis, but no more! His crybaby fight with Disney has cost him ANY of my future votes. We’ve been annual passholders for over 20 years.

    LEAVE DISNEY ALONE!!!

  20. Diane

I hate to admit he’s my governor. He acts more like a school boy in school yard. I wish you start acting like a governor. Why is he picking a fight with his biggest employer and biggest taxpayer? That is so not republican

  21. Geoff

To be honest. It’s heartbreaking that this subject is his main focus. We have ridiculous property and automotive insurance issues that are causing people in the state of Florida to lose coverage. Insurance companies dropping homeowners because it may be too costly to repair. I will definitely keep these issues in mind before casting my vote in the future. The Walt Disney company has done so much for Florida in regards to tourist dollars. Let’s get back on track to what truly matters to Floridians.

    1. Ben

Disney isn’t going to Georgia . If you bigger that you are extremely gullible. That was a bogus article. Besides, it is extremely impractical and unrealistic for Walt Disney World to “pack it up” and move to another state.

  22. Bella

I’m beginning to believe that DeSantis doesn’t know how to deal with real issues like affordable housing, the home owners insurance crisis, flooding, crime, gun violence in general, gun violence in schools, red tide, environmental issues, sea water rising, etc. It seems like he is diverting attention from important issues in Florida because he doesn’t know how to deal with them so he has chosen to attack/harass Disney in hopes voters won’t notice his incompetence.
He also needs to remember the whole country votes for president not just Florida residents. So if he causes headaches and more money for Disney vacationers he could lose votes.

    1. DH

Personally, I’d love to see Disney pack up and move to another state. Does DeSantis realize how much in tourism dollars that Disney brings to Florida?
Let them be and quit poking g the bear.

  23. Rick

Hmmm. So because Disney exercised free speech that doesn’t agree with DeSantis’ hate-bills, because they exercised their right to support financially whichever candidate more closely aligns with their vision, and because they outsmarted his “takeover” bid – the governor who can’t govern abuses his “power” and, with the help of his gerrymandering state government, is looking for further ways to punish the House of Mouse. When his constituents are put out because his henchmen do a surprise inspection at the height of tourist season, I hope the Mouse makes it clear that the delays are thanks to your State Governor, who has nothing better to do than go after those who disagree with him. Nope. Not hurricane relief, not insurance relief, not relief for heightened violence in “his” state. No. Nothing matters more than persecuting Disney because they “hurt my feelings.” Grow up, DeSantis. And Florida voters, grow some sort of voice and let him hear loud and clear you’re sick of this ridiculous tirade. I’ll stay away from the so-called “Sunshine State” until the darkness known as DeSantis is gone.

  24. Walt

Ummmmm….. where is all the outrage over Disney genuflecting before the communist Chinese on gay rights, environmental issues, the slaughter and imprisonment of Muslim Uyghers and other Chinese communist atrocities?
Where is there boldness there? Oh yah – they would lose too much money and probably be kicked out of China. This is a game and they are very bold when dabbling in our politics to boost their ESG scores yet are perfectly fine with authoritarian govts elsewhere. How bout they be so bold in China?

    1. Rick

      Walt, again…wow.
You and Ron must be, I don’t know – like kin. I think you’d give your kidney if the man needed one. To blow smoke on Disney in China (or Europe or Japan or anywhere) and change the discourse of the conversation – very Tucker Carlson of you. Stick to the article at hand. DeSantis, Rob DeSantis. Grown man claiming to govern by retaliating anyway he can because Disney didn’t agree with him. Maybe you like Putin, too. He doesn’t respect free speech either. And that’s what this is all about.

  25. Well, look at I this way. In August, Disney will be breaking ground for a brand new Walt Disney World outside of Atlanta, Georgia. I’m glad they’re moving. I’m ecstatic that Atlanta, Georgia is about to get more jobs and the taxes from all of that. Yeah, DeSantis great idea to threaten Disney by building a prison outside of WDW. Congratulations, DeSantis. You won the biggest pissing contest ever in Florida state history. It’s too bad your state is going to lose all of that tax revenue. (No, it’s not) You did a great service for your fellow Floridans. Keep up the great work, numbnuts.

    1. Deb

Disney isn’t moving to GA. Look it up.

  26. bawe

DeSantis is getting some bad advice.

  27. Jason

Has impeachment crossed the minds of the other lawmakers.

  28. Sherry

Why did he get married there does he tell his little kids they can’t go to the bad disneyworld. Enough problems here with gas homeowners insurance, fix these problems & leave Disney alone. What does his wife have to say when children cry because “daddy won’t let them go”

  29. Pete G

Sorry, but Disney stepped in it. Everyone who has taken a single college course in business administration learned long ago that you don’t stake out huge political positions when running a business – because doing so alienates big swaths of your customer base. Publicly stating that Disney would put “everything it has” toward defeating a bill that prohibits teaching sexual subjects to third-grade (and younger) students will cause some to agree, some to disagree and some to be horrified (to the point of promising never to take their children to a Disney park or allow them to see a Disney movie). Why leave all that money on the table? Walt would NEVER have done that. As for the governor – he is a political figure playing to his base – which uniformly agrees with his actions. So it’s not really surprising that he would take the actions he has. But very surprising for Disney.

    1. Teddy Gingerich

Perhaps you missed out on the time Walt Disney testified before the House Unamerican Activities Committee (one of the things about him I DON’T respect).

  30. Sparky17

I certainly believe if his election were held today, it would be a lot closer since he’s become a viral disaster nationwide as well! He can’t reverse his toxic views on the War, abortion at 6 weeks, childish and pointless battle with Disney, letting everyone have a gun without proper training or mental evaluation, converting the school voucher plan from helping needy families to making it a free for all while reducing public school funding. My time has run out for now.

  31. Bert

This Florida guy is this seasons Scott Walker. Remember him? I didn’t think so…. (lol) Disney will be around long after we’re gone….

  32. Andy

I’m sure that Disney has many scheduled protocols in place for the inspection of all transportation and attractions. The safety of their guests is a top priority. DeSantis would rather pick a fight with a major revenue producer for the state of Florida than to concentrate on the tough issues…Sad

  33. rteker

love how some idiots keep saying or using the words “Don’t Say Gay bill” when the bill doesn’t say the word ‘gay’ anywhere. secondly considering HOW many times they have broken down or other technical issues that have arisen, this might be a good thing.

  34. rteker

Why do people keep saying or using the words “Don’t Say Gay bill” when the bill doesn’t say the word ‘gay’ anywhere. secondly considering HOW many times they have broken down or other technical issues that have arisen, this might be a good thing.

    1. Vk24

When my kids graduate high school, I was strongly considering making a move to Fla to get outbof NY. But if he’s going to still be governor, etc., then I’ll be reconsidering it. Other national groups are warning ppl of visiting, or moving, down there, too. Guess the tourism, etc isn’t really needed, either, being it seems like he wants to make Disney become an old swamp once again.

      1. Skip

Yeaaaa one less yankee family in fl. Things are looking better already

  35. Lonnie

Desantis just wants to throw his weight around. He’s such a trumpster dumpster. What a joke.

  36. Andrew

DeSantis is out of his mind! There’s a saying that rings here, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!” He’s causing a lot of pain, heart ache & expense with this nonsense! He wants to be president? NFW!

  37. Suzy

Is Desantis intentionally trying to make himself look ridiculous? He appears like a petty bully with all of the constant fighting.

My Pastor says, “He has NEVER met anyone that God has personally appointed to be a Judge!” DeSantis, how anyone likes to dress or chooses to have Sex, IS NOT yours or anyone else’s Business!
Let God do his job. He doesn’t need yours or anyone else’s help!!
LEAVE DISNEY ALONE, Bully! I Will say Gay!! Shame on you “Little Boy”, DeSantis!!
Bully the Insurance Companies if you need to feel powerful. Get our Homeowners Insurance costs down.
Now that would be you doing something Good that makes a difference in people’s lives. That will be a change that we need.
    Don’t Mess with Mickey!!!

Disney should of already been doing this.

SAFETY FIRST!!! It should be #1 Priority!! Disney World is a place to go and enjoy the wonderful entertainment and atmosphere. Please Please keep Disney out of politics!!!!

    Hey Disney,
Why don’t you close completely for 2-4 weeks calling it a maintenance closure getting ready for Ron’s inspections. This way maybe all the hotels, restaurants and other businesses that will suffer during your closure would join in and get the governor to shut up and get to more important issues. Like has been stated homeowners insurance, violence, crime, homeless people, higher education, roads, bridges, taxes, etc. You know the things “He” is supposed to do. So far he has just increased the profits for insurance companies and pinched a fit with Disney because they didn’t totally agree with everything that comes out of his mouth.

I personally don’t know why Disney hasn’t sued him for discriminating against them especially if he does make all other businesses and tourist attractions under go the same policies.

An analogy: cops are like the devil that are needed to be around, but at the same time they are a nuisance to some more than others; people need the cops, but at the same time we hate them v.s. the governor is the cop that is needed around, but at the same time some people dislike it/him/her more than others regarding the politics war that He/She is spearheading. Overall the cops/governor are there to stay, and they are an essential part of the people’s life whether the people like it or not–political people do inherit headaches, and these headaches spread like cold flu, and once the flu is contracted by the people wine and moan’s would not help. I believe the governor made a judgement call, and most judgement calls are like flipping the coin and see thru the end or ???

So let’s see, a so called republican governor who’s party is about less government… Wants more government controlled and oversight of a private business… A business that does absolutely nothing for the state and people of Florida? He’s a special new level of stupid… If Disney quietly in the background decides to leave Florida, nothing and I mean nothing could make up and fill the void… Disney will never ever go broke lol ever… But Florida might become the new Skid Row with all the closed businesses that 100 percent depend on Disney’s visitors to fill them and spend money…

  46. Disney has let the Monorail System deteriorate over the time , instead of filling their pockets with profits they should’ve been upgrading, and it wasn’t DeSantis it was the Disney Board Members

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls,
So the complaint here is that instead of Disney doing inspections a third party will be doing it? Golly gee sure sounds like a good idea since it will mean that it may be that much more safe for all of us. Shut it down permanently just because it will need periodic inspections? How about everyone that lives in a state that requires car inspections you just put your car up in the garage because you do not agree with an inspection. Makes about as much sense. Disney has been funding and pushing gender propaganda in many things they have been doing lately. Yes they actually fund activist groups. So the great Governor of Florida passed a bill protecting our children. And that is a bad thing? What would be a great idea is if someone were to buy Disney World. Run it just like in Japan. Then all of you that are complaining about Florida requiring Disney to follows the rules can take your trips out to California. Although Disneyland might have a hard time keeping the lights on soon since Cali is going green. Maybe Tinkerbell can spread some fairy dusk on all the Disneyland rides to keep them running.

It’s a opinion maybe it fits some experience in life you experienced. The trouble is Desantis openly stated his wish to retaliate against Disney for a guaranteed right of freedom of speech.Disney will win this lawsuit and bring down this sore loser .

I worked a year at Disney at Epcot and Safety is number 1!
52 million visit Disney every year times that over 50 years.
Accidents, injuries and deaths will occur.

    1. Lisa Ashton

I agree, been a Disney fan for two decades. I have ALWAYS felt safe.

  50. Patrick Muhammad

You are assuming do you have facts

  51. Karen

This man wants to run for President? Who is his next vendetta going to be against! This thing against Disney is ridiculous & childish.

  52. Lisa Ashton

I am stunned at the hate and ignorance coming from DeSantis and may run for president? He is ignorant and attacking Disney for embracing people that are different from him. Could you imagine such a hateful person as president? Shame on you, you are pathetic

  53. Jay hill

Disney scrap Florida and make a four seasons theme park here in Michigan 💯 Big Gretch would welcome that with open arms

  54. Jim
