Disney parks are the money making arm of the Disney Corporation.
But who is paying this? the guests at the Parks, with over inflated pricing exceeding inflation rates.
There should be no reason to continue the Genie+ or Lightning lane pricing. Maybe bring back fast pass with a lower cost of $5 a day. That could still bring in WDW, if everyone on an average day paid the $5, $800,000 would come into Disney hands each day. Lets look at only half $400,000 times 30 days a month. 12,000,000 a month and yearly $144,000,000. This is only half the guest using fast pass.
This does not include Disneyland which sees about 51,000 guests a day. Maybe 25,000 would buy a fast pass at $5 which would bring in $125,000 a day. Monthly $3,750,000.
And Disney is still making money from the pre Genie/lightning lane debacle that was created.
$5 compared to 2 people buying Genie+ at about
$25 and lightning lane at low $15 per “E” ride. Lets just say the “E” ride for the visit is 3 a day. $70 per person =$140 a day times a 5 day average stay whopping $700. family of 4 $1400 for the upgrade and price of Hotel and daily tickets, leave alone eating and snacks.
Whoa,, this became an expensive adventure.
As printed above:
“Disney Genie is free, but for an extra charge, Guests can upgrade to Genie+, which allows them other access to reservation systems and the option to purchase individual Lightning Lanes for rides, essentially letting them pay to skip the standby queues. As covered by many Disney new outlets including Inside the Magic, this system has been met with lots of frustration and criticism from new and long-time Disney Guests and fans.”
Many Guests would like to see the return of the original FastPass system, which was free to all Guests.
