For the 50th Anniversary, Disney should have yanked Johnny Depp out of the attraction and returned the script to its original. And eff the PC correct people.
The original ride was dull and dated. I think that having Captain Jack pop up makes it a bit more interesting, as, like it or not, Bill, Johnny Depp created an iconic character.
To answer the question posed, no, I have never been evacuated off of a ride, though some have broken down while I was on them. It’s annoying and frustrating, but hardly the end of the world.
