More attractions would be preferred. There are already too many places to shop with many stores carrying the same items. Again, another money grab on Disney’s part. Went in November and it’s losing it’s magic. I will say the park was abuzz with Bob Iger visiting the one day for the Candlelight Processional, cleanest I’ve seen the park in awhile.

Omg(osh) more retail? Just what I need, more reasonably priced merch (ha ha). This is why my family & I have stayed away from all Disney the past 6 years. Smh

Interesting. My sister and I visited Disneyland in Dec and Oct, respectively, and we couldn’t find anything we wanted to buy. We actually wanted a souvenir. The merchandise was sort of garrish, and repetitive.

  2. If they can afford this money for expansion, then Disney can afford to allocate sufficient resources to the parks to return them to cleanliness and keep the rides up and running, as well as increase the number of cast members [paying them a living wage], and bringing back the Imagineers and the animators

I just seeing Disney being sold in the near future and then DLR & WDW going goodbye forever. 😔

Exactly! Why put up more shops & just redo the old break room etc.

Expansion is a good thing, but Disney should make downtown a Disney experience. Like make the rainforest restaurant into a Disney restaurant with Disney automation characters. Make the food downtown like Epcot. Play the fireworks show on the downtown buildings like on Main Street with soundtrack, with snow in the winter.

Rainforest Cafe has been gone for a long time.

Adding a small retail building and a stage is not a major expansion and definitely not a new attraction.

It appears the decision makers for Disney are losing any sense of imagination which made the theme park unique.

And the whining continues from the entitled Disney fans….don’t go if you don’t like it

I can’t get too excited about more shops and restaurants.
Perhaps with the new stage they will get back some good entertainment like Sligo Rags. Get that band back at Downtown Disney and also at California Adventure! They are the best Irish music around.

  11. I’ll add my 2 cents…….My Granddaughter took her Mother. 2 Sisters and myself to The Whole New Year’s Eve Celebration at Disny Parks in California. 3 days 2 nights at Grand Californian. We spent 2 days at 2 Parks IN THE RAIN…Us and 2 million others. NOW..THE QUESTION IS…..did ANYONECat these Parks get free comps for ANYTHING? NOPE. If so I’d like to hear from THEM !! Thanks. Disney is only out for their $$$$$.

I hope they don’t do WDW the same as Disney Land. It’s losing its magic, slowly but surely unless they do something about it.

They should do something for people that visit park on their birthdays. They could make them have the best birthday ever in the world.
