Many do the same thing with different IPs at comic conventions, pop culture conventions, where they sell artwork, 3D creations, hand made items, and online too.
In the same context too, autographs of celebrity tv film sports music stars. Sometimes even the cactor/actress who played the role of a character cant sign an autograph because the character is owned by the studio, not the actor/actress.
However there are many shops in Orlando and Kissimmee that questionable Disney merch is sold.
Even to the extent of resellers selling props, attraction items, resort items from the Disney Parks and Resorts, though they bought it at a liquidation/auction off sale by Disney, stillmif its resold a high price that too, is a third party selling off IP that is not theirs for their own profit.
Copyright Infringement is very thin ice. So stay off the ice.
Good.
I despise when people state that Disney has enough money and blah blah blah. It’s never just about the money. It’s the quality of the product and their name that goes along with it.
There are some craptastic little “companies” out there ripping off Disney products and the quality is not even close.
Small companies would be devastated if others started knocking off their merch because someone bought a Cricut and stole their good name and profits.
Good for the mouse.
Chris and Hannah’s ear are very high quality. Much better than anything the mouse is putting out. But I get it. Disney doesn’t want others profiting off of their IP. Perhaps they could look into hiring some of these great ear designers to up the quality of the merch they sell?
Probably selling cheap chinese made stuff, and Disney just cannot allow that to happen because only they can sell cheap chinese made junk at a highly inflated price. Probably bought from the same vendors.

Disney is known for this. They put a t-shirt shop I know of out of business. It sucks for the company. but they have the right to sue.
