This will not be another Encanto success story for several reasons:
    1. It doesn’t have the heart Encanto did.
    2. It doesn’t have the music Encanto did.
    3. It just really isn’t all that compelling of a story, it is yet another “we need to treat our environment better” story. And yes, we do need to treat our environment better, but we don’t have to be hit over the head with it repeatedly.

We had the opportunity to see it while on a Disney Cruise and it was its premier. Lots of people walked out, even though there wasn’t much else going on at the same time on board.

The only thing the story really has going for it is that is is inclusive of people that don’t often get representation, such as the disabled, but even then the inclusiveness doesn’t really include the main characters, except for race and a same sex relationship and that has been done to death by now. It would be great to see true inclusiveness of more people, disabled, large, small, etc. No just what is “politically correct” right now.

Encanto was never a smash hit. It’s just that people were willing to watch it when it became free on Disney+. Such “smash hits” are very bad for Disney’s pocket book. I mean, imagine all future Disney movies to do poorly at the theaters because people know that they can just wait a few days and watch them on Disney+ for free.
Strange World is being blamed for its gay representation. Little Mermaid Live Action will be blamed for the black actress. When will Disney face the fact that Disney+ is undermining all their new movie box office performances?

So is the leftover impact of COVID.

I could’ve seen it for free in theaters with rewards points, but I’m glad I waited. Now I’ll have more points to spend on my next WDW trip. Sometimes patience is rewarded.

Regardless of the LBGQT+ content, from what I have read here it just sounds like I would be interested in to begin with.
