No, there is a better way to fix the crowd issues, reopen all of the closed offering, bring back all of the entertainment and other offerings, large and small.

Let’s look at the Disneyland Resort for example:
    DCA –
Put a show 4 times a day back in the Hyperion, this takes about 2,000 people out of the park for around 1.5 hours with wait times and getting people in and out of the theater.

Reopen the trolley show that was discontinued

Extend the Trolley as far as the tracks go with more stops

Put something in the old Who Wants to be a Millionaire building besides just a shop from time to time.

Put something in the old Hollywood and Dine building

Bring entertainment back to Pacific Wharf

Bring something in to replace what was Pixar’s Philharmonic Orchestra

Put the Citizens of Buena Vista street back to their former glory and have lots of them.

    Disneyland –
Put something besides a piano player in the Golden Horseshoe

    Add shows to Galaxy’s Edge

Add night times shows of some sort to the Fantasyland Theater

    Bring back swing dancing

Bring back bands to Tomorrowland Terrace (and do a day time show there too)

Replace Launch Bay with something that will attract people

Reopen the theater where Honey I shrunk the Audience/Captain E-O was.

This doesn’t even cover shops and restaurants that are still closed or operating on a limited schedule.

The list goes on and on, but if things get reopened, it would dramatically help crowd issues.

Carousel of Progress with updated animatronics, a new 3D show, and People Mover in Tomorrowland alone would suck in a huge chunk of park attendance throughout the day.

      👏👏…all very good ideas!

None of this is realistic, this is all driving up operating costs on Disney’s end and that right there is a non starter.

For evening shows in Fantasyland Theatre, that’s not poss le cause the fireworks are launched close by, so it’s easier to end shows at 6 pm. Plus it’s more staffing, which is more costs

The easiest fix to the crowds issue that doesn’t cost Disney anything is removing the monthly payment option for annual passes.

If people truly want an AP they’ll save up for it and pay for it all at once.

It’s far too easy for a family of 4-6 to have AP’s and pay $300-$400 a month instead of having to pay $2400-$3000 at once.

Overcrowding isn’t an excuse to price gouge, it is a quality of service issue.

Universal is cheaper, less crowded, less broken, higher quality, and makes more money. What is Disney’s issue? Where is the money going, Bob?

That all might be true, but Universal is also a 1/3 of Disney’s size. So their overhead is nowhere near as large as Disney’s.
I would also argue that when I go to Disney I don’t have to worry about rowdy people/teens or anything like that versus Universal I have come across more issues. I think that’s directly related to the cheaper costs.
Universal has stepped up in a lot of other areas that Disney has gotten lazy but security and monitoring the crowds is something Disney has never sacrificed.

You’re solely looking at this from a Disney World perspective, the comments above are all from a Disneyland perspective

I love universal, just as much as I do Disney, but the level that Disney does things far surpasses anything universal does… I Universal hasn’t proven that they’re able to do an entire park with a cohesive theme with a variety of different rides, not just purely screen base rides

For universal to try and sell the fast and furious ride as a big deal is insulting, especially when it’s an after thought on the Hollywood backlot.

Yeah Universal has stepped it up when it comes to velosicoster and wizarding world, but what about Suess landing or Toon Lagoon, or any area inside Universal that’s not Diagon Alley? That park is mediocre and extremely dated.
Universal just gets away with a lot cause the Harry Potter stuff is so good, but that’s because JK Rowling won’t accept a mediocre ride/attraction to open in any of her lands.

Name one good Universal ride that they’ve opened that isn’t HP related or the Jurassic coaster? Skull Island? Transformers? Those are copies of rides that Hollywood had for years before they got shipped off to Florida.

Universal forced Disney to step up their game and they did! Pandora & Galaxy Edge is great, while Toy Story is very underwhelming but that’s a product of the fans expecting more not because it low quality.

Disney needs to start charging premium prices for their premium product, stop trying to keep the prices online with Seaworld or Busch Gardens or Cedar Fair…Disney is better than all of those! So they should charge accordingly.

Charge more simply cause it’s a premium product with good quality rides that I trust and am safe with my family.

No different than buying a Volvo versus a Honda.

Both are great cars, but Volvo charges more for their craftsmanship and quality while Honda is a good reliable family brand that doesn’t have many extra frills.

If you can afford it then great! If not, then just save up a little bit and you’ll be able to buy it in a year or 2.

Just like deluxe resorts versus values….one cost more cause of the extras you get. Disney should be doing the same thing at the gates.

If people don’t like it, than go somewhere else, everyone else will be happier without all those people in the park anyways!
