That is a low IQ response even for woke trash.

        1. Lol

You might recognize it steve, the extreme right Dumptards coined it. Back to your EZ chair my man!

          1. J

You can get mad all you want, but the only fact that matters is that Lightyear was a box office bomb, and Strange World is set to lose over $250 million when you factor in the cost of global marketing.

Strange World is going to lose a QUARTER BILLION DOLLARS.

But yeah, keep on blaming the “extreme right.”

I’ll say it again: the movie is going to lose a QUARTER BILLION DOLLARS.

An intelligent person would say “Gosh, Disney needs to go back to making movies that kids want to see.” An idiot would blame the “extreme right.”

          3. Steve

Coined what? You having an autistic episode?

  2. Freddie

It turns out people don’t want this filth pushed on their children. Go figure.

Your wife gives free gum jobs down on the corner, and you call THIS filth?

      1. l0l

Hate to break it to you, but that was hobo bob that lives on the corner giving you those gum jobs. But at least you had a good time

      2. Steve

        Go away woke freak.

Gay people are the single most overrepresented people group in entertainment. An estimated 1-2% of the entire US population is gay, but you’d probably have a hard time naming ten sitcoms that don’t have a sassy gay person in the main cast.

Remember back in 2015 when leftists were lecturing conservatives that gay marriage wasn’t going to affect our lives in any way? Because I remember.

    1. S

A supermajority of people in the world have queer tendencies. Try again.

      1. Steve

Is that from your personal experience, fake-S?

    2. Lol

Lol, you Dumptards REALLY try to convince yourselves with your own made up numbers don’t you? Try again, and learn to do a little research, closeted kween

      1. Steve

        Twitter is mad.

      2. J

I have a personal policy – instituted about 25 seconds ago – to not take any kind of advice from a person who thinks that “Dumptard” is a valid contribution to any intellectual discussion.

It’s a new policy but it seems to be working well so far.

    3. J

You’re correct; I underestimated. But spend ten more seconds on Google and you’ll find a report – from the same Gallup polling company – that says Americans, when asked “what percent of the population do you think is gay,” respond with an average of 23.6%.

Now, wrack that brain of yours and ask yourself: whatever could have given Americans the idea that gay people make up almost a quarter of the population? Think really hard and tell me where you end up.

(Google “Americans still greatly overestimate US gay population” and read the article on Gallup’s website.)

    4. Kendra

The fact that your mother didn’t raise you to how to live and get along with everybody, even when they’re different than you, is really sad, J.
I raise my kids to realize we come in all shapes, colors and sizes.

      1. J

I get along with everybody just fine. I shared an apartment with a gay man for two years while I was in seminary pursuing a master’s degree in Biblical studies.

I realize that idiots like you think “disagreeing with someone” is the same as “hate,” but that’s not the way things work in the real world.

My real question is how an ANIMATED movie – as in, zero expenses related to shooting on location – manages to have a $180 million production budget.

Disney obviously needs to go back to making movies that are actually for kids, rather than trying to lecture their audiences, but it was always going to be hard to turn a profit on an animated movie that costs as much as a Marvel flick.

    1. JG

Do you not understand how costly and time consuming animating is? It’s incredibly difficult and animators are still underpaid.

      1. J

The Bob’s Burgers movie cost $38 million (and had the same runtime as Strange World). “Fine,” you say, “but it wasn’t computer animated.” The Hotel Transylvania movie that released back in January had a $75 million budget. “Minions: The Rise of Gru” cost $80 million.

If your argument is “animation is expensive,” you still have to explain why this movie was a full one hundred million dollars more expensive than “Minions.”

        1. Steve

Bob and Bob doing creative accounting is how. Sounds like they did it with Avatar 2 to the point of absurdity.

        2. Daryl-Rhys Taylor

Because those are cheap and not as technically impressive or animated as well. But to you South park must look exactly like Bambi.

          1. J

Bambi had a budget of $858,000 in 1942, which works out to $15,871,903.71 in 2022 dollars. Strange World was literally over ten times more expensive.

Sit down, child. Grown-ups are talking.

          2. Steve

This flop wasn’t technically impressive, either. It wasn’t Avatar. It looks like every other Disney 3d movie of the last decade.

  5. Carol

Disney jumped on the inclusivity band wagon and they went too far. How people want to live their lives is their business but I personally don’t want it shoved in my face.

    1. James

Tell that to your pregnant 16 year old daughter and her ex convict boyfriend eating each others tonsils in public, hypocrite. You don’t want gay people to show affection, then it goes for EVERYBODY.

      1. Steve

Oh are you offended by biology?

      2. J

Just IMAGINE how stupid a person would have to be in order to think that this is a valid reply to a comment on the internet.

Well, James doesn’t have to imagine because he lives it, but the rest of us can try.

    2. Holly R

Straight people have been shoving their crap in their faces for decades. Time to show more inclusion and less exclusion.

      1. Steve

        Straight is normal human behavior.

        1. Derrrp…BASED!

          LOVE is normal, human behavior.
You, on the other hand , Steve, are the worst kind of ABOMINATION that could have preen out on this earth. Too bad the last 2 hurricanes didn’t take you away to sea. Ah well, better luck next time!

        2. LOL

          LOVE is normal, human behavior.
You, on the other hand , Steve, are the worst kind of ABOMINATI0N that could have been put on this earth. Too bad the last 2 hurricanes didn’t take you away to sea. Ah well, better luck next time!

          1. Steve

Stop posting the same crap twice in a row. Learn how2internet, woke freak.

  6. Daryl-Rhys Taylor

Because those are cheap and not as technically impressive or animated as well. But to you South park must look exactly like Bambi.

  7. mark

It was a breath of fresh air. Things changed get used to it. Homosexualality is completely normal in nature too..

    1. J

I personally think that “it’s normal in nature” is the best possible reason to reject a behavior, not embrace it.

Old lions who can no longer make a contribution to the pride are abandoned and left to die. There is no social safety net. That’s normal.

Feral cats mate with all the females in their territory and chase off, or kill, all their competition. That’s normal.

The longer you actually look at nature, the longer the list of utterly reprehensible behaviors you’ll find – so justifying something with “it’s normal in nature” is stupidity on a scale that’s difficult to imagine.

      1. Kendra

So with all your h@te speech, what exactly do you propose then, J?? You’re not ok with people being gay, based on your comment above, it should be “rejected”. Do you wanna go around and kiII every gay person in existence then?? They CANT change who they fall in love with, so what EXACTLY are you saying should be done? Come out with it instead of being half a$$ about it. What’s your “solution” to gay people??

      2. Kendra

So with all your h@te speech, what exactly do you propose then, J?? You’re not ok with people being gay, based on your comment above, it should be “rejected”. Do you wanna go around and KlLL every gay person in existence then?? They CANT change who they fall in love with, so what EXACTLY are you saying should be done? Come out with it instead of being half a$$ about it. What’s your “solution” to gay people??

        1. J

I don’t believe that a person having a strong desire to do something makes it okay. Many people have strong desires to do something that most of us would consider to be morally wrong. You might get really mad and have a strong desire to kill me, or even simply to censor me. Your desires do not make the thing okay. Someone else might have the desire to have sex with children. The desire does not make something okay.

So, we need to recognize what is called the “fallacy of personal compatibility,” which goes something like:
          – I want to think of myself as a good person
          – I have the desire to do thing X
          – therefore, a person must be able to do thing X while still being a good person

If we as a society begin by rejecting the fallacy of personal compatibility, that’s the first step in the process. Then we have to ask where our definitions of right and wrong come from, and whether there is one universal standard of right and wrong that applies to all people (which you obviously think there is, because you believe that your attitude toward gay people is “right” and mine is “wrong,” not merely that we have a difference of opinion) or whether each person is free to construct his or her own morality (in which case you can never truly say that another person is in the wrong).

This is a very long and complex discussion, but that’s the beginning of it.

          1. Kendra

            The
The first and probably most important point I want to make is this… You CANNOT speak for gay people. You’re not gay, and you CANNOT speak for them, just like I would NEVER pretend to know what a black person goes through in their lifetimes, and wouldn’t pretend to know.
I can’t speak “for my brother” in this sense, but from being his best friend and talking to him every single day of his life, I can PROMISE you, he only wanted to fall in love and share his life with a soulmate… just like you do. When you equate gay people to only “what they do in the bedroom”, you’ve already VERY UNJUSTLY judged them as something YOU PERCEIVE they’re “all about”.
Are there promiscuous gay people? Of course! Just like there are VERY promiscuous straight people as well.
But what YOU call “strong desires” is them simply wanting to LOVE someone just like YOU have the right to. Does NOT have to be all about the “sexual” aspect, as so many of you focus on. He was NOT straight and COULDN’T CHANGE who he was, so was he supposed to live his life alone and miser@ble in order to appease people like you??
Sadly, he ended his life because even our own mother wouldn’t accept him for the loving son she knew before he came out to her. He had continued to attend church til the very end, and was NOT AT ALL promiscuous. But this world has apparently decided that he doesn’t get to fall in love, because apparently love is in limited and exclusive supply. It hurts my heart to think about the way he was rejected every day, even though he was a better human being than most of you will ever be. I pray that you find a way to learn that we are ALL entitled to love, and NOT just heterosexual people.

            1. J

That was an awful lot of words that had absolutely nothing to do with rebutting the things I said in my post.

Of course, I’ve come to expect that kind of bewildered confusion, and total absence of anything resembling logic or reason, from people like you.

              1. J

On second look, I want to apologize to you. The post I just left was not at all loving or compassionate, and I wish I hadn’t sent it. If I could delete it, I would. Again, I’m sorry, and please forgive me.

I’m also sorry for what happened to your brother. However, I would have also counseled him that his sexuality did not need to define his being. I would have directed him to Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 19:12: “For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.” Sexuality doesn’t define us as human beings. If your brother went to church, and if he recognized Jesus as Lord of his life, then he would have recognized that God gets to define pure sexuality – and he would also have recognized that voluntary celibacy, for the glory of God and his kingdom, was an incredibly high honor.

At the end of the day, the question in front of all of us is: what are you worshiping? If you’re worshiping your own sexuality, if that’s the thing that’s most important to you, then fine. Disney has gone down that path, and we’ve seen where that’s taken them (to the tune of losing a quarter billion dollars on Strange World). If you’re worshiping Jesus, and you’re really willing to let him tell you what’s best in life, then you can rest easy knowing your reward in heaven is far beyond anything you could ever forsake in this life.

                Sermon over, soapbox stowed.
