It was going to be trash like all the others, I am glad they removed any doubt.

Hercules has amazing music but the story is pretty much garbage to anyone with any fondness for the original mythology. It’s much worse than the changes they usually make to stories. Hera was the one trying to kill Hercules because her husband had cheated on her with a human, which makes him a demigod, not a God, and he never interacted with Pegasus. That was Perseus. Hades helped chain the titans originally. He’d never want them released. There are nine muses, not five. Morpheus seems to have been combined with Hypnos. Morpheus, Hypnos, and Nyx all live in the Underworld and it is Nyx who brings the night. Hercules isn’t even his Greek name, it’s his Roman name. It should be Heracles. Pain and Panic are completely ridiculous. They are probably modeled after Phobos and Deimos, the daimons of dread and terror, but those two are the sons and companions of Ares, and have nothing to do with Hades. I could go on for an hour here. Yes, stories get Disneyfied when they are made into movies, but this is TOTALLY Made up from start to finish. There’s nothing in it that throws back to the original story. And I can’t wait until the kids who love it grow up and learn Heracles murdered Megara and their children in most myths, although in some he just murdered his kids and she went off and married someone else.
