Comments for Disney World Begs For Job Applications With Rented Sign

A rented sign outside the Casting building reads "Apply Online Anytime." A shocked emoji has been added to the photo.

That is not going to work to get quality people. Disney better check out who applies very carefully to make sure the man or woman is a good choice!

As if with their current rates they can get quality people. All the quality people at Disney parks now are veterans who’ve been there for a decade. Now they can only recruit college students who’ll quit as soon as they graduate and people who work for the perks instead of money.

These jobs are low wage non-skilled non-professional jobs. That’s why the low pay. They aren’t meant to support a family. Yet any professional jobs at Disney are outsourced to India or imported foreign workers. They also waste tons of money on wasted Disney+ programming that no one wants.

I think more people pay for Disney+ than waste time standing in lines at theme parks that Bob Chapek is actively cutting spending on.

Maybe more people can get jobs at Disney Parks if Bob Chapek steps down, NOW!

Disney employee for 3 years, loved mu job. Then after the pandemic I got a abscess in my back, I so much wanted to stay, doing anything. I was told that there was no place for me even though Doctors said the infection probably came from a open blister and probably from work. I could not prove it, but all I wanted to do was work. But was refused because of having to use a walker or wheelchair. That’s what Disney is now

The park where workers are prepared to strike later this month over low pay is struggling to find workers? Here’s a novel idea, try paying them a living wage. 🤷‍♀️

Never thought I’d see the day that Disney would have to resort to a “highway sign” for employment. I can’t help wonder if Paycheck is the problem or people just don’t want to work., or a combo of both. Either way, Disney seems to be going in the wrong direction and the board is failing it’s shareholders by continuing on the same path.

Meanwhile, you whine about your job & I have a family vacation in Dec. prepaid back in Jan. I can’t get out of at a cost of about $7,000 dollars for a week! Be quiet already! Just some helpful suggestions: Stay in school, strive to be the best at what you are presently working at, WORK HARD, if your unhappy find other employment!!! Just saying I’m in my 70’s and followed these basic rules & since retiring at 62(12 yrs. ago) I have reaped the rewards of my efforts $$$, free from debts, and earned every penny on my own since I was 16 years old! It Feels great. Try it you’ll like it!
