I tried this for the first time last month (funny enough, Beverly was actually my favorite!) I was shocked how everyone was getting a new cup every time they tasted a new soda. It was very crowded in there, and everyone did. I felt like a heathen using a single cup and refilling. I worried I was committing a social faux pas! But people are not this wasteful where I am from. I applaud Disney for making this change.
This is minor compared to some of the other things they’ve pulled. This one at least makes SOME sense. But with the staff shortages have they really got enough people to stand there all day handing out cups?
They don’t have enough cast members to have Minnie, Donald, and Daisy but they can afford to have one person hand out single cups at a free tasting??? A bit messed up in my thinking!
It is a food sanitation issue. Your lips touch your cup and then if you aren’t careful (which many children and even adults are not) then you can touch your cup to the soda dispenser when trying another flavor. In the process you’re sharing your spit with everyone else. Using different cups is simply more sanitary.

More likely a supply chain issue. Many restaurants are having a hard time getting paper cups, can’t imagine Disney is any different.

We were there last week and there was no CM handing out cups. It was the normal cup option. Are you sure???
